So I just picked up my truck from the trans shop for the third time in 2 weeks.

first time, lost reverse. Second time, leaking out of the front.
Now, I just picked it up again tonight and the damn thing wont downshift into first when I stop at a light.
I called the shop back again and he said the governer is probably sticking, because they had the transmission out and upside down on the bench. He said to manually shift it down to first and it should clear up in a day or so.
Does this sound right? I dont know ***** about transmissions but I'm about to lose my temper!-cuss
Oh yeah and the truck is running like crap and I have to pull the injectors out again and see wich one(s) are leaking.

Just thought I would vent a little.:D

how anyone can mess up a C6 is completely beyond me.
out of curiosity, how much did it set you back?

Its time to take this very simple C6 trans to another shop... Even AAmco could have fixed it without any reruns to repair it over and over again. Just tell the shop they are going to pay for the other shops repairs. They have had enough trys to "do the right thing". Do you really feel they can evr fix it correctly... These are simple auto transmissions to overhaul. Sorry for the bad thoughts but its time to move on and find a better shop but... They need to know they are all done trying to repair your trans... any court in the land will side with you on this. You gave them plenty of chances to fix it right and they continue to **** things up.....

I pitty anyone who takes an E4OD to those guys if they can't handle an old school C6.

I tell you what really has me dumfounded. This shop has been there for 35 years, they have excellent reviews and I have known several people that had great luck with them. Hell, I've even recommended several people to them and they are all happy.
I think what is happening is, they are getting old now and they are burned out. It's no excuse for poor work though and although they keep fixing it for free, it's a pain in the ass to keep taking it back every two days!

If I had known it was such a cheap easy trans to rebuild, I probably would have taken it somewhere else.
Just as I explained in the last post, these guys have an excellent track record. I thought I was doing good by taking it to them, guess I screwed up.

Ill take the turbo and the baby moose. lol.

Seriously.

I was joking with my wife earlier about selling this thing and the more I think about it, the more I am tempted to throw it on CL and be done with it.

I'm ready for something a little bit newer, something also with a back seat for hauling the whole family.

With tax, 680 bucks.
that's no worse than my prices up here.
I have a 2wd C6 that is still ****** on the rebuild circuit in a truck that can be benched for $400 if that will solve your problems. if you can make the trip up here, the $280 additional will cover install, fluids and tax.

I worked for a tranny shop years ago and I swore that if it couldn't be fixed by a good conditioner and a little exercise fallowed up with a filter and fluid change by me, that I would buy a tranny to replace it with. A C6 is easy to rebuild yourself but with what I've seen in the tranny industry, what you got is what I put in the first line of this post. It fixed it and then a seal went out and they had to fix that. If they had rebuilt the tranny then it would have gotten new seals and they would not have charged you to replace a faulty one. I saw so much of this going on it made me sick and I didn't want my name part of it. There are some good shops out there, but I don't know how to identify them!
