i finally got ahold of a turbo but have never seen one like it(though i have only seen one turbo idi) it uses the factory manifold on the drivers side and just has a crosspipe, and the turbo bolts to the passenger manifold, the downpipe seems like it would run towards the back of the engine then down which would be right because that is the only place with enough clearence to ge a downpipe through, then it has the turbo which has rajay and turbo engineering on it everything else is covered in the turbo engineering logo, it also has a box that was mounted on the firewall of the previous truck that has fittings for what looks to be the oil feed line. I'm in the process of trying to get pics on here but i lost my cord, but they will come because i will need to get some info on that box and some other things.

I believe there is one other member here using that setup. It mounts in the place of the Alternator, correct?

i don't think it mounts in place of the alternator i seems like it would mount on the side of the engine on the passenger side idk it looks really wierd and when i bought it it was already off the truck so that was no help but the shaft is tight I guess i will just have to break down and look for that cord and get the pics up.

redneckaggie,

The driver's side manifold is the one that actually gets replaced and the turbo mounts over there. Hopefully it will make more sense now.

They were designed to use an open element setup. It makes it pretty easy to plumb an open element to an area where it can draw cooler air using a bit of tubing etc. There are lots of flexible boots and elbows available for reasonable prices. Do a search on here for cold air/intake setups like the Moose air etc. and that should give you some ideas.
