Time for liner orings in one of my dt466's (1987 210hp model). The head has never been off before. Question is, can I re-use the head bolts or must they be replaced? I'm having a hard time finding this particular info.
Also, do the head bolts on a 466 require re-torqueing after a while? I do practice re-torqueing head bolts on NTC cummins engines and IH idi's just as a 'midlife" service thing and they almost always take another 1/2-3/4 turn to achieve the torque spec. Then they seem to hold for the remainder of the engines life with no head gasket issues. I'm wanting to practice this on a 466 also as a preventative measure. Anyone have thoughts on that?
