Ordered an isspro egt gauge.

That's the brand the RV had from way back around 1985-87 with the 085 kit, and it still worked.

As opposed to the Banks branded one that was put on (presumably) around 1989 on this van, that went bad. I have an Autometer one on it currently.

Info about it is here

I had to squish it pretty considerably to get it to clear the bell of the transmission, plus slice a side of it and angle the flange a little more to mate to the turbo. Frankly I feel like it wasn't made correctly, and whom I purchased it from didn't want to do anything about helping me fix it so.....

It is squished almost half in size.

Hence why I need to find a good replacement down pipe to adapt the exhaust to.
That's crazy. I have his down pipe. The biggest thing I had to do was put a dent in it to clear the up pipe v band that I have from @IDIoit. It was kinda tricky to snake it in there and get it to line up correctly. Also I put new body mounts on at the same time and that raised my cab over an inch. I don't think it would have fit otherwise. maybe your body mounts are shot?

I will be curious to see the numbers once you install the new gauge. The temp probe for the Isspro just seems more heavy duty to me. Maybe Im talking out my butt. I just feel with Ron's fan and intercooled your egt's should be in check. I was also running Justin's 3" down pipe and a 4" Diamond eye kit. All I know is things made more sense when switching to the Isspro gauge. My probe is installed drivers side manifold between 2 and 4. On more than one occasion I felt the EGT's , just cruising around town were way to high and was really questioning my setup. Changing out the gauge seemed like an easy place to start. This is not to say i would put a big load behind it and hammer it over Santiam pass without keeping an eye on stuff.

My probe is installed between 6 and 8, and I fully agree its probably a little bit of both, gauge out of calibration a little and restrictive exhaust.

Still haven't heard from Justin, I'll try giving him a call again when he opens shop.

Now that I think about it the downpipe is made to mount up to the RandD manifold with the V-band clamps. Not sure what fab work would be involved to make it work for your set up.

Sent you a pm,

Justin said he doesn't sell just the down pipe, its a wastegate housing modified and the downpipe combination. If I wanted just a downpipe I'd have to get a replacement of what I already have, which is the banks upgraded one. I found it on summit racing, but since my original one didnt fit, I don't want to get the same one knowing it didnt fit. Plus its only 2.75" out, and I ordered 3" exhaust....

Guess I get to ponder how I want to skin this cat. My body bushings are most definitely worn out, they're original from 1990.

I have a Banks DP on my 93, has plenty of clearance, installed it 6-7 years ago,
have a C&C truck but don't think that would matter, cabs are all alike.
Installing this egt guage and sensor, very well built sensors, used them in other applications

For a follow up in case anyone finds this in the future,

I should be seeing high teens for boost. On a good day I barely see 12. Guess me wiring the wastegate shut wasn't enough. Good thing I have a wastegate delete kit coming in the mail.

Gotta make sure I update my threads, for fear of @Jesus Freak making up some goofy story on "what happened"

You're safe. The ones that get that treatment are the ones where the guy broke down, pumped us for a bunch of information, and never let us know what happened. Then two months later they log on again and post their truck for sale, like it's craigslist.

My coworker (production manager for our company) just picked up a weekend job painting houses to help pay for a 2023 F350 PSD that her husband bought. Combined, these people probably bring in 140k+, still bought a truck they cant afford. Why buy it you might ask? So they can tow a couple dirt bikes to a track... :frustrate
