Seals are the same as the stock seal, it has enough give to go over the sleeve. When I bought a sleeve it would not fit without machining the damper in a lathe, but I am thinking they may have gave me the wrong one. It should just drive on with a block of wood and some loctite.

The sleeves are usually chromed and pretty tough. If there is no groove where the seal runs, you should be good. If you are trying to seal a pesky leak in that area, make sure to put a little sealer on the keyway of the damper. Oil can migrate up past the key and then around the washer and bolt and make a leak that is hard to find.

When that happens I just make note as to press it in farther than it previously was as to not hit the groove
