Never done a swap out like that, but I got one in a Link Belt 290 hoe with a little over 12,000 very hard hours and no problems at all. A very strong engine in my opinion.

I got a friend of mine that has a 2840 John Deer and he was asking me if there is any way to get a little more HP out of it. I believe it is a 1977. I told him we probably could tweak the pump by turning the screws on it. Is this true in this case?

Yep that's right another roll over. Same driver nine months later on his side again. Driver said the load froze in the noise. But he later told me and some other drivers he it jammed up and he tried to rock the truck.

Iv started to add a little every time I fill up. I usually get about 14 to gallons, and in to that I add 8 oz of the 2 stroke oil and 4 oz of power service. So far so good, It seem to be a little more response and I picked up a 1 mpg just playen around in the city.
I called 2 Mack dealers today and they said they have not heard of any such program for the 460. But one dealer told me that in mid 2006 that Mack was going to release some new engines, HP rating from 480 to around 550.
