Hello everyone,
I've went an entirely different direction with my vehicles, and no longer have use for the turbo components I've collected over the years. I tried to acquire the best that I could afford, and have quite a few things to pass on to the next lucky person as an entire kit.
1. New...
I failed to keep everyone posted!
The powermaster starter seemed to crank just as fast as the denso unit I returned. It was also covered in a rubberized coating, which smelled awful. But I'll appreciate the protection it offers.
Does anyone happen to have a part number for the gear reduction nippon denso starter that fits the IDI? I was only able to find the part number for a reman mistubishi style unit (280-4253). I'm really hoping to find a quality gear reduction unit.
I also took apart the DB starter and was...
Well, I hope someone enjoys a laugh at my expense here... seems the early power strokes and IDIs have the same exact bolt pattrrn and bendix with a critical dimension difference. My new starter appears to be for the 94-03. I'm wondering if the automatics are different....
Flywheel doesn't have...
The Denso is just over 30 days old, and the place I bought it from is honoring the warranty. Bouncers suggestion led me to ask about the draw on the trigger wire, and I guess it can draw 30 amps. I definitely don't see that original wire lasting long. But I'll hopefully have it apart today and...
That is an interesting point. Its the only component that has been a part of the system since the second DB starter. Even though i replaced the old component, it seems likely id get handed an underrated replacement. I think I'll check into that. Thanks for the advice.
Well, I can't get the truck to restart at all. It's in a spot where I can't work on it. I'm going to try to get a local to help me bump start the truck so I can drive it to its resting place to start tearing pieces off.
Anyone in southeast ohio with a truck that has too much free time on their...
My thoughts with the #1 is that the issue presented itself some time after I had a clean engine and mounted the new connectors. I made sure the surface was shiny, and free of any type of contamination. I didn't think a leak onto the outside of a connection like that could cause such a jump in...
Hello everyone! I'll try to run through the series of events so far...
Still working on my 1992 f250 7.3 N/A. I had replaced my worn OEM mistubishi starter with a denso styled unit from DB electrical just over a year ago. I had no issues with it over the past year, outside of weak batteries...
24 psi of boost on an IDI? Seems kinda risky to me! I figured a boost controller cut off at 10 psi seemed safe.
I didn't spring for studs or anything too exciting. Seems like you guys have hurt some motors feelings.

Ive got some leaky seals on the truck and I can't say that the vacuum from the intake stop them but it certainly can't hurt. Ohio doesn't have emissions testing (yet), but I might take the truck somewhere that does.
Certainly a cheap solution though. Did your truck have a lot of blow by? Mine...
Going to resurrect my own thread!
The stars have aligned and I'm able to make partial progress with my install... Again! I appreciate everyone's input so far.
With respect to intake air filtration, I've decided that the 6.0 OEM assembly is not a good fit for me. It would take up a lot of...
Thanks for sharing your experience. The great thing about the internet is that you can learn more about nearly anything. The bad thing is that it tends to inflate negative experiences and opinions. I've always had good experiences on this forum, granted I'm not terribly active.
I'm relieved...
How long have you been running without heat? From what I've read, seems like most folks run into viscosity or coking issues with cold oil. Suppose your blend must be working well.
I haven't read about many successful blends of WVO. Would you mind sharing your ratios?

I've been reading about biodiesel and/or VO use in my truck. I can definitely see how running wvo/svo would be easier. Especially if you have an auxiliary tank and supplemental heat for the fuel lines.
My biggest concerns so far are coking with straight SVO/WVO, and freezing temperatures where...
I don't have anything helpful to add, except you STOLE that truck for $1500.
I had an issue like this in the past (yay rust belt!) I decided the investment into the repair wasn't worth it compared to finding a good frame. Anyway, good luck!

I had the privilege of speaking with Bill quite a bit around this time last year while hitting roadblocks with my truck. He always knew exactly what direction to point me in, and even offered to let me use his space/timing tools. The best part would be the stories that came along with those well...
I choose a NA 7.3 IDI over the PSD because the reliability/ruggedness primarily, and the cost second. Another reason I choose the 7.3 IDI was the entire engine being mechanical. I wanted wrench time more than I wanted modern amenities, and these trucks (and this community) certainly encourage...
Thanks for the insight, I hadn't considered the compressor assisting the flow of air from it's source. Makes a lot of sense though!
I will be using the stock IP I got from Justin. At the time, I also put in NA injectors, but was told it wasn't enough of a difference to bother replacing them a...
