So what did you do with your truck today?

I guess that hitch extension is ok, just never thought they were all that safe. Looks like it should have a wheel under it for support.:bail Goat

Black sludge/deposits under valve cover - problem?

I talked to them before. I seem to have $800 in my head, but probably much more. I will have it checked over before sticking it in. There is a deeper sump available, here is a thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1259386-gearvender-deep-sump-installation-tutorial-maximum-overdrive.html...

    Different Oil Filter (read)

I use the MotorCraft FL1995 Power Stroke Filter. Walmart has them on the shelf. Use to be $9.97 now up to $26 ea as I remember. When the Covid BS started, and the supply chain shortages, I started buying them when I saw them back on the shelves. Iam well stocked. Goat

    Showerhead filter alternative?

The link I posted and the E-Bay Senders are probably all made in the same Chicom assembly line. If you are going to keep your IDI for the long term, be a good idea to purchase a couple back ups while available. Remember, these are OHM specific for what ever year or generation etc... When I...

    New but not

Welcome to the Forum. Looks like they go up to the 6.0 engine. Scroll the page up to where you see "Staff on line". That will be one of the administrators. Click on his name and start a conversation, and he will direct you. Goat

So what did you do with your truck today?

Those type of wheels are dangerous, plus a P-I-T-A. Bought a home made car trailer with Mobile Home axles under it back around 2012 for $1800. Found it on CL, what a piece of stuff. needed new tires, as they were worse than I thought when we looked at it. They are the odd ball size 14.5 x 8...

86 F-250 E-Bay, What they looked like when new

Poking around on E-Bay came across this 86 F-250, over priced as usual. Thinking, dang, this is what my truck looked like 38 years ago. Hard to believe no dents in the Bed. Had to laugh when it says "has the over drive trigger". Probably a Gear Vendor. Don`t recognize the turbo set up. Maybe a...

Black sludge/deposits under valve cover - problem?

Thanks for the reply. I pulled a GV from PNP couple years ago out of a 89, 7.3, C6 trans. Grabbed the GV, $160, then back next day with more tools, for the adaptor, $34. Now looking for the T-19 adaptor. This is the first one I have come across all the years going to PNP. A 2 spd rear end switch...

That`s a HF Tire Iron. Use it or some type pry bar between Alternator and the engine to pull the Alt. over to tighten the belt. I did that before discovering the Square Block on the Alt. Just make the belts snug. tbowker info above has the info you need. Goat

Black sludge/deposits under valve cover - problem?

Running cold, taking it on short drives and not getting up to temp. Only driving 2 -3K miles a year and sitting most of the time, could be some of the issues. A few years ago both Valve Covers were a leaky mess. I cleaned up the Drivers side, removed the bolts and washers, cleaned them up in...
