Planning to mod engine to have following things:
1. heated injection lines
2. heated fuel filter
3. electric pump before injection pump, to help pumping thicker oil
4. increased glowplug warming time
5. maybe an antifreeze heat exchanger
Goals are:
[Must have]
1. Less rough start, less prone to stalling when cold [the glow-plugs significantly improve this]
2. Works in winter
[Nice to have]
3. Runs on 100% WMO
4. More power (with WMO I have a noticeable decrease in power)
First off the injector lines. The theory:
1. the injection lines hold cold fuel that will get squirted in the engine first, until its all replaced by warm fuel from the fuel pump
2. the metal will be cold and cool down any new hot fuel until its all warmed up
Wrapped the heating pads around the injector line, secured them with kapton tape and finally a layer of heat-proof fibreglass. Seems to get toasty in 20-30seconds and help a bit with coldstart.
