And don't forget that McMaster-Carr charges about $11 to ship that $8 pack of o-rings. cookoo
But of course they can't be bothered to put the shipping cost anywhere in the cart or checkout process. I emailed them once about it and they replied like it was so normal to hide the shipping cost. They said I could email them about it for every single order...what?! That was probably 5 years ago and nothing has changed. I love their site and parts and dimensions and all that, but they refuse to do the basic shipping cost per order. Clearly, it drives me nuts. -cuss
McMaster uses Federal Express. Ya know, Federal? Like everything else federal, you never feel good after dealing with it. Especially when its always next day.

But they have excellent return policy. Toss anything in the box and they'll take it. Always best to get a cart going and then order a load at a time to cut down on shipping.

I agree. Fed Ex is sometimes, on time, but usually not. I just got something shipped in by Fed Ex yesterday. The package lost a day because it arrived at one location with a label that was "unreadable" and had to have a new one made for it. That REALLY doesn't impress me. USPS used to be the best, fastest way to get something shipped, but lately they've been even worse than Fed Ex.

Funny story about FedEx. I live on a shared drive way that goes to two other properties. I live on one side towards the road some, one of the other houses is on the opposite side of the drive, and then 1/2 a mile down the drive there is the 3rd property. One day the FedEx driver came by to deliver a package to the house at the end of the drive but didn't want to drive down there. So he tapped it to the telephone pole 4ft high! All I saw was a guy out front walking in circles around the telephone pole taping a box to it,lol.I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
FedEx is just plain stupid. They are constantly flying up and down the driveway doing at least 35mph, and it is an extremely rough driveway, even for a quad. All you here is a bunch of racket coming up the driveway, and I have actually seen them catch some air a few times in the full size box vans. I can't tell you how many times I have come very close to being T-boned by a FedEx truck. The other day, one of the drivers tried to back down the drive, and he got stuck after 20 ft, and ended up making ruts all over the grass trying to turn around. Forget about all the busted up packages I get from them. Sorry about the long rant, but if you haven't noticed, I don't like FedEx, and neither does my dog, lol.
UPS was always the best around here, with the same driver all the time, but now they are just as bad as FedEx with different drivers who don't care everyday.

I go out of my way to avoid having anything shipped to my shop FedEx ground. The earliest they ever try to deliver is 4pm. Most of our folks start at 6am, so there’s rarely anyone there to sign for it, they refuse to leave anything without a signature, never leave a door tag, and as soon as you call to ask about a delivery, they mark it as undeliverable and return it to the sender. Rockauto is the only place I routinely order from that insists on FedEx, so if I need something from them for work, I have it sent to my house and I get it no problem. FedEx freight and express however have never had issues.

I agree with that. Our logistics company uses FedEx freight a ton and we don't have issues really.

I guess I'm lucky, on that note, to be living in a small town. The Fed Ex driver delivers to my house and where I work so he knows me by sight. Since he's usually at my house after I go back to work from lunch, he always leaves my packages without a signature. UPS does the same thing. I have to have a PO box so all of my USPS packages go to the post office. It's either in a PO box or I have a notice to pick up my package. I just stop in there on my way home for lunch so it's really easy.

I hear you there. We have a post office where I live, but it’s only open from 1-3 every day. I however commute an hour into Nashville every day for work, so I live with a foot in each world. But even in Nashville my UPS and USPS have been the same folks for years. It’s pretty common to spend 10-15 minutes BS’n with the UPS guy about guns or politics.

Amazon is pretty timely in CA, pretty slow in ME, but has the worst drivers!
1) They will cut you off, often not signal for turns, and drive around without ever turning off their hazar lights.
2) They always double park blocking the street. (Fedex and UPS pull to the curb or up the driveway.)
3) Hit and broke my mirror on the drivers door. USPS, UPS, nor FedEx has ever hit my vehicle and they all have been around since I got my license!
4) Always have more dents and dings on their vans.
