IR 231. Mine is still 19 years old and still going. ;Sweet

;Sweet I'm with the Iggy guys and my 231 was bought in '79 and can still beat the brakes off most of the "newer" ones and I also have the 3/8" drive "lil" brother of the 231 and it can break 100 ft lbs!

Just gotta remember to give the back a shot of grease for the hammers once in a while...not too much or the hammers can't do their thing....

FYI...Lowes has a package deal on the 231 and a 3/8 air ratchet :D----around a $150........

I've got probably 9 different 1/2 inch guns currently including 4 which are rechargeable. My top dog is my snap on. It will take anything off. It only gets pulled out for the nasty stuff. I have a cp turbo2 which was the big dog of the group till snap on brought out the new one this year. Next inline are the mac I have and my IR titanium. The titanium I bought when they first came out and was the reason I bought the turbo2. They tool man had a special socket that you could mount up two impacts head to head and the cp made my titanium turn backwards going full blast in reverse. Ended up snapping the anvil in the titanium doing that but he gave me a new anvil when I bought the CP. As to power all of mine put out over 600 except my ancient old snap on 5100. The big snap on has the most of all I own. Currently tested out at almost 1000 ft lbs in reverse running 150 psi. Has taken off a 2 1/2 inch nut on a dozer track sprocket.

IR impacts are the best.
I've got a 2135 Titanium (talk about light- 4.5lbs!) It has plenty of power and did I mention how light it is? My CP has about half the power and is twice as heavy.

I have two snap on units at work, bought both used but Im not a fan. Im going to get a set of the ir titaniums. one of the techs has a 3/8ths drive and it will take the lugs off my truck and breaks stuff if your not careful. I would say that is the BEST bang for the buck hands down. We had a guy that recently left that had a 1/2 titanium and we put it up to the 1/2 snap on and it spun it backwards then broke the anvil. The snap on guy was pissed, i thought it was funny. A gun half the price just trashed his macho "my d$ck is bigger" gun.

just my .02 from the shop.

Our snap on guy won't well the snapon 1/2 gun. he stocks the 2135timax on the truck. But the 3/8" gun is a different animal.
