where to buy rebuilt 1990 7.3

i would like to buy a rebuilt engine for my 1990 f350 7.3 crew cab dually. i dont know how many miles are on the motor , but i know it has had 2 replacement engines already. used to hall horses across country.any advise would be appreciated. thanks russ

Welcome to the forum. Many like to rebuild their own engines because they have better control over whats done and whats inside it. Most every part of the 6.9 or 7.3 engines are the same part so its easy to find parts. Very few parts are actually different. Only the turbo rods are different from the 6.9 and 7.3 na engines.

If your looking for a rebuilt engine, just DON'T even look at a Jasper engine. I put a rebuilt in my 90 from Promar. Don't show in my sig. gave it to my Grandson a year ago, he runs the **** out of it. There are many rebuilders out there. Others on here may have experience with them. Promar runs around $3000. Check out there web site.

The one in my 86 is from Reviva and it has pretty serious blow-by, smokes like a freighter, and doesn't have the power I think it should. It has less than 60k on it and I have been around it for the last 20k and it hasn't changed, no better, no worse. I don't know what direction I'm going to go with it.

Before considering to rebuild a idi diesel you should check the cdr and injectors and injection pump because any one of these can cause the engine to smoke like a worn out gas engine, or a combination of them will cause the engine to run really rough, and if you do replace the parts and the engine still seems to still be worn out you can swap the parts onto the rebuilt engine and

try here if you are looking for engines they are a good company to go to from my dealing with them. I just looked and all they have right now are T444E but they do get the old 6.9/7.3 from time to time and last i checked the old 7.3 from them is 2,500 for a rebuilt. the link is for a T444E from 94.
