What Years & Trucks Did The Detroit Diesel 12v71 & or 12v92 Come In

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but an engine that big would have only been in a medium duty or Class 8 type truck, or a piece of heavy equipment.
The 2 Stroke Detroits never came factory in any pickup sized application, and if it had, it would not have been a V12 Detroit. Ive seen 3 4 and 6 cylinder Detroits swapped into a pickup, but they were custom jobs.
In a pickup application, the only years and applications that had a factory diesel, and none were 2 stroke Screaming Jimmys are:
Ford:
83-87 - 6.9L V-8 IH Built IDI
87-94 - 7.3L V-8 IH Built IDI
Late 93 - Early 94 - 7.3L V-8 IH Built IDI Factory Turbo
94.5 - 97 - 7.3L IH Built DI Turbo - PSD - Same as IH/Navistar T444E
99 - Early 03 - 7.3L IH Built DI Turbo - PSD - Same as IH/Navistar T444E
03.25 - 07 - 6.0L IH Built DI VGT Turbo - PSD - Same as IH/Navistar VT365
08 - 10 - 6.4L IH Built DI Compound Turbo - PSD - Same as IH/Navistar Maxxforce 8
11 - Present - 6.7L "Ford" Built DI Turbo - PSD - Claimed to be all "In-House Ford Design and Built", but I've heard that IH/Navistar helped A LOT on this build....
GM:
78 or 79 - Mid 90s - 6.2L then 6.5L V-8 Detroit Built IDI - Later had a turbo from the factory on the 6.5
Mid - 90's - Present - Not sure of displacement - V-8 Isuzu Built DI Turbo - Duramax
Dodge:
91 - Present - 5.9L now 6.7L I-6 Cummins Built DI Turbo
Any pickup, and a lot of medium duty trucks, before the 80s had gas engines........
Hope this helps, but a 50's era diesel doner pickup just does not exist

6.5 started in 92, Iirc. Still produced today for hummers. Was in pickups until 99 or so, then 6.6 duramax started in 00 or 01.
And yeah, no 2 stroke Detroit came in a pickup.

Thanks, I don't know the other 2 brands and the year breaks on them. I have only owned Fords and been around them the most. I have only driven 1 Chevy Pickup and 1 Dodge Pickup (Had a Durango but that doesn't count)

Yup. I understand. My first diesel was a 6.2. So I kinda started with them, then psd, then ford idi, then back to psd. Lol Still have the 6.2, planning a project for it, but that'll be awhile.
