Here's the cool part, at least to me, is I can hook it into a key on source, but also put a concealed switch electrically between the keyed power source, and the pump. Mount the switch up under the dash, or somewhere handy, and out of view.

I can leave that switch closed for the most part, but say in a crappy part of town, or just not in the best areas, open that switch. I'd think it would be a fairly decent anti-theft device ;Sweet

My electric gets power from the IP fuel shutoff; as long as your pump doesn't draw too much you will have no issues using that. I also installed at three way switch, keyed on, off, on (straight to battery). I shut this switch off when I am leaving the truck for extended periods of time, boat launches, etc. Nice security feature! I use the manual ON to prime, and to steal a little 'liquid boy scout' -Flame Thr from the filter drain.

I would NOT USE A FUEL PUMP CUT OFF SWITCH on my truck.

The reason is my truck will run (at least for a while) with out the electric pump. This is because the fuel injection pump (my rebuilt one at least) can pull enough fuel to keep the truck running fine at anything other than wide open throttle at a heavy load. It does not, however; supply enough fuel to cool/lubricate the fuel injection pump.

So here's what would likely happen; At some point I drive the truck without having the fuel pump on (having forgotten/bumped the switch) and kill my injection pump.

Or; thief steals my truck (HA! HA!) and joyrides a few hundred miles before killing my injection pump.

I need to rewire my psd so that the pump is only on with key on. Right now it comes on with acc also.
So I'll role up after pt, lunch, etc sit and listen to the radio for awhile so I'll kill the pump. Then sometimes I've forgotten to turn it back on. Strangely enough I'll run for a bit with it off also. I find it weird. There's nothing to pull fuel like with a db2 or something.

Hydraulic suction is a very powerful force. Meaning what ever goes out your injectors creates a strong vacuum on everything upstream of them, so everything that goes out of the injector will be replaced by new fuel coming from the tank.

Acceleration changes the picture, as does any kind of leak. But; other than that, what ever goes out WILL be replaced!

What about breaking the FSS wire, and switching it? That should work, and in line with what it already does.

Only con I can think of is;

You forget to flip the switch and run the batteries down before you(or a friend) remember the dang switch.

Honestly; the idea that someone would steal my truck seems hilarious. In the winter I leave it running with the keys in the ignition all the time. One of the benefits of driving a 29 year old truck that's ugly as sin.
