Well as the title says, I'm curious to see what EGTs people are seeing when driving empty and hauling with your various setups. Don't know if this thread will catch on much but it would be interesting to see!

With my current setup in my sig I'll get no more than 700* empty and 800* hauling

With the same setup without the supercharger I would see 900* empty and 1100* hauling

Both of these scenarios are in 100* weather up a hill going 70-80 mph

My trailer was 8-10k lbs

Hopefully this peaks some interest because it would help a lot of people who are considering different options with their builds including myself!

Rig in my sig
6-750 runin empty on fuel
6- 1100 pulling 6k on fuel
40 k on truck pump and inj, no idea on fuel screw, it was probabley set per ats recommendations at 3# now at 11#

I could maybe add some fuel but waiting to do a new pump and inj. And perhaps an innercooler.

The 88 non gates banks system new junior and bb's
6-850 empty on fuel to the moon.
Pulling same load 600 to meltdown ( lifted at 1100) just plain to much fuel to cool without an innercooler
Ran like a **** ape tho!

today;

900 EGT uphill in 3rd in 45 mph zone ( i wont say what i did to see what it could do lol!) at approx 8% grade. grossing......hmm.let me calculate........
ok my truck is 8500lb with two men, tools and fuel
a cord of green (red oak) wood is 4886 lbs as per: ( http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/weigt-wood-d_821.html )
i had one on truck and one on trailer for
18,272 lbs.
oops! i knew the stuff was heavy but i didn't realize i was getting so carried away.wow.well she had no problems with the duals, electric brakes on the trailer and hydroboost on the truck.no wonder why i felt the desire to downshift manually into 2nd coming down grades with stop signs below.i didn't need to.i just felt it safer.

it's cold out now though.i was seeing 1000 EGT's before it cooled down.

oh.11 lbs max boost.(typically 5 lbs or less on flat ground.)
oh and egt probe @ up pipe.
oh lmao....and this is chip truck.

Cruising empty 65-70 around 450-550*, ~5 psi boost.

Pulling ~10k 600-900* under most conditions and up to about 1050-1100 under full throttle, ~19 psi boost.

This is pre turbo.

My truck runs ~650 deg @ 60 mph, and 800 deg @ 70 mph, unloaded. I haven't had a chance to put more than about 2500 extra lbs on it, which didn't seem to effect it much.
Those 37's and 3.55's aren't doing it any favors. Lol
It idles around 230-250 deg, and will reach 1100+ if I run it hard.

This is after putting in new injectors from R&D, and advancing the timing (probably a bit more than it should be, but I don't know for sure). Beforehand, the EGT's were a nightmare! It would hit 1200 deg at 40 mph, on flat ground, unloaded. Lol. I think the PO messed with the IP.

Can't wait to get my turbo put on and see how it does.

when towing anything, EGT goes up fast, around 1,100 and then I start to let off and that's around 10-11 lbs of boost. just crusing at highway speeds EGT around 600 and 5 lbs of boost.

Truck in sig. 92, F350 CCLB, 4x4, 3.55 gears, 285/75/16 tires, ZF5, ATS 093 with 3" downpipe, for those who can't see my sig. LOL

Can get up to 1100 empty, but I'm right at or exceeding 75 mph by then. Cruising at 75 probably 7-800 at 5-7 boost.

So you guys think bumping my timing from 6 deg up to 9.5 would lower EGT's?

Towing 6000lbs + 1000lbs in bed, from Texas to Oregon. Max EGT's 3rd gear WOT for several minutes, 1050-1100*, boost >15psi. 4th gear at 65mph WOT (2300rpm ish) 1100*, >15psi boost. 4th gear WOT less than 60mph (less than 2000rpm) 1300*, 13-15psi. I could run any 6-7% grade in 4th as long as I was above 2000rpms, any less and EGT's were to hot. Drop down to 3rd and could accelerate back up to 60mph and only 1100* max.

Some of these grades were several miles long. I think I held 15+psi for more than 5 minutes several times.

Non intercooled, waste gate unplugged, stock ATS intake, stock pump maxed, BB code injectors. 3.54's and 285's

old restrictive hx35, 15k gross up a small grade for 3-4 minutes WOT 4th gear 1000.
cruising 75 600

new turbo has higher egt cruising, need to bump my timing down a bit to help spool and boost, overall might bring the egt down some. Cant get over 1000 with my current maxed out stock 90cc pump. needs more fuel to really light the s366 off, got the r&D stage 1 injectors in it.

Sounds like this thread is going somewhere, thanks to everyone who has participated, I'm glad to see some consistent results.

Anyone using a moose junior on a N/A? Or a Bull Moose on F/I?

bone stock (AFAIK) N/A.
250-300 cold start idle.
375 warm idle.
550-650 cruise empty.
900-1100 loaded with gooseneck and tractor (steady, after you ease into it)
can VERY QUICKLY build to over 1300 WOT empty (only did it once)

Normal driving, empty, temps are fine.
Trying to actually use it as a TRUCK is problematic. :(

side note: same trailer, same tractor - my dodge stays around 650.
and it gets there faster, with less effort.

'nother side note: Mack with 45,000 lb. load - 700 at 65. all day long. :)
(doesn't even notice the above trailer/tractor load). :) :)
