all you need to switch out the ign. switch is a longish phillips screwdriver and either a cresent wrench or keyed torx. Less than $10 at a local parts store.

yea i could see that, they would probably give you hell trying to hop a plane with a suitcase full of tools.I see a cavity search in your future!:rotflmao
post 9/11 the only way to travel with tools is to FedEx them or UPS them ahead to your next destination.
Still, the fact you're buying a one-way ticket will automatically trigger a cavity search.

thats one perk to being in the army. I get to skip 50% of that stuff. Straight to the front of the line.. and they just skim over me, run my bag through the xray and good to go.

I think I would probably say " Thanks anyway " , rip up my ticket and walk out. It's just not worth it, haha...

When my ign switch went out in 1 of my trucks it fried the wiring a bit. I haven't replaced the wiring harness yet, so I energize the inj pump from the battery.

If they ask questions then tell them you're flying out there to pick up a truck.

I did it to get my truck in April. Took the toolbox and checked it. I just made sure to ask to see if they wanted to see what was inside before I taped it up.

Buying a one way ticket is just one of many things that can get you flagged, so if you dodge that bullet, plenty of others are coming your way.LOL

And if you're packing tools, I think you only get 50 lbs before they start charging you for excess weight.

I packed heavy when I flew up to Ohio a couple years ago. I took every tool I needed to fix 9 different vehicles while I was up there. No problems flying up they looked at the tools and said okay. I had two suitcases with tools in them. Coming back was a little more interesting as I was bringing back two of my handguns. Those were inspected 100 different ways before they would put them into the baggage hold. I also had to give the keys to cases to the stewardess when I boarded the plane.
