Weird Noise coming from zf5

Hi guys this is my first post, but I have been lurking for a long time. I just did an engine swap into my 94 idi with 5 speed. The truck has a zf5 and I converted the flywheel to a single mass kit. Well I'm getting this noise which sounds like grinding whenever the truck is leaning to the right and turning to the right. I know it isn't gear roll over. The more the truck turns the louder the noise gets. But when I turn left the noise goes completely away. I followed the instructions from the kit and everything went on smoothly. I already checked the down pipe and it isn't hitting the tranny. Also, when I put the truck under load it goes away, but sometimes it comes on and feels like it limits the motor. You guys have any ideas? I tried getting a video but it doesn't get the sound.

Make sure every piece of hardware is tight! A friend had similar weird sounds coming from his C6 years ago, turned out about half the bellhousing bolts were lose (forgot to tighten them after a motor swap) and be broke the housing.
Is it making noises when idling or driving?

shoulda posted this a week ago, i rolled right through your neck of the woods to grass valley.

sometimes it takes a 2nd set of eyes to help.

i would guess that its something stupid you overlooked.
which is real easy to do, get a fresh set of eyes on that badboy.

engine mount? driveshaft? recheck all nuts and bolts.

Eli, I will check all the bolts again around the housing. Those are suckers to get at. I just have to wait for this weird stuff coming down from the sky, (rain) to stop. The noise is when I am driving. I can hear a faint gear rollover noise at idle, but they are two completely different sounds.

I was going to post about it but got to busy. If my gramps comes down I will have him look at it. I remember putting all the engine mount bolts down good. Do you think it could be my clutch? When I'm on the freeway in 5th gear it sometimes will make the noise, or sometimes none at all.

SMF right?
if it was the clutch, i would suspect that it wouldnt make a difference in which way you turned.

007 yourself under the truck with a stethoscope and have someone drive it :rotflmao

yea it is the Luk smf. Thats what i was thinking, but it is just puzzling me.

I may just have to do that. That is how we found a problem in the rear end with my brothers jeep.

my vote is the driveshaft rubbing somewhere due to worn out suspension.
check for shiny spots on the driveshaft

So are you referring to the carrier bearing on the drive shaft. By the way the truck is a crew-cab long-bed.

I know we replaced one on our 90 idi. I will have to check it all out.

I wouldn't mind coming down just to look at your 6 door idi. That thing looks sweet.

So I went out and looked at the drive shaft and there is no shiny marks. Also nothing is near it but the carrier bearing. I don't have the front drive-line hooked on because the PO lost half of it and I haven't purchased a new one yet.

My backyard is full of projects also. Still rebuilding a rhino's motor that I tore apart back in July.

Ok I will let you know. Never really down in that area that often. If you need any parts off a single cab idi let me know.
