Need help was removing the valves from the heads on 7.3 idi and notice the driverside has some brittle stuff around the valve body looked like. Some dryed up oil or fuel dont know

My guess would be that it's soot (combustion gasses combined with oil) from your exhaust valve guides going bad. It's time to do something about this.

I did do a leak test and some valves wernt clossing all the way

What I see in your pictures on your fingers is probably old, brittle, broken valve seals. The valves not sealing are another sign of the guides being worn. For threads talking about this, look for the key word "chuff" or "chuffing".

What your seeing is broken valve umbrella seals. This head has been removed and new valve guides were installed. See the bronze material.

icanfixall, you're right. I looked at that in the pictures and it didn't even register. By reading the original post, I thought the debris was on the valve stems themselves. These heads should be good to go.
