Hey Diesel JD,

Even though that wasn't directed at me, I still thank you because i found that to be very helpful and educational. I was wondering what an ideal psi similarity range would be! ;Sweet

You're welcome, I'm just repeating what I've heard from Typ4 and some local injection experts. Makes sense. I've never really had matched set, seems one or more of mine is always in the +-150-200 range, but hopefully I can change that VERY SOON. +-50 is a matched set as far as I know, if someone who knows better disagrees feel free to correct me.

Uggh.

A friend just got his order.

A cheap, used, Harbor Freight box.

Everything thrown into the box with NO packing materials.

The injectors were in individual, thin clear plastic baggies, with NO protective covers on either ends.

I was surprised that the box remained intact. If there had been an IP inside, that box would have arrived in pieces.

The injector tips are probably toast. Also, no copper washers or o-rings included. I suspect they are scraping the bottom of the barrels to fill orders now.

I am not looking forward to weeks of shipping , refund, and return hassles.

Uh oh...that worries me since my injectors haven't even been shipped yet...

Strangely enough, my IP that I ordered later is set to arrive on the 7th (Monday). :dunno

Here's hoping I get a set of injectors.

yeah,

I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this too.

Especially when I recall all the times I've rented U-Hauls in the past. Every instance was a miserable experience. I hope this is isn't another one.

I ordered a lot of parts, but haven't received anything yet.

Hey man what part of Minnesota are you from?

80 miles North, I'm in the Forest Lake, Chisago City, Lindstrom area.

What? You've never opened the hood on that 86 F350 diesel truck of yours.

I can't see much of anything with a big open air element filter covering most of everything. I did notice the IP, injectors and glow plugs when I was standing on the hub to spray a 1/4 second blast of ether into the intake.

I have a few thoughts for you KyleQ. First of all, you're right to be skeptical of such a low budget build, heck I bought them and I'm skeptical, all mine came with the orings attached and the copper in the bag next to it. I know what would happen if those bags were somehow scratched or damaged in shipping/packing...yep the copper would go missing. I'm most concerned about how in your pictures the pintle is exposed...did these not come with covers for the pintle and inlet? They SHOULD have, mine did. All mine were Stanadyne D code, but they are probably reman to BB spec. Your best recourse is to have these injectors pop tested, you don't know what you have until you test it. The only thing you could really complain about at a price like this is if the injectors were not actually reman but instead just used and had the dirt cleaned off and shipped to you. The other worry would be if the pintle were shipped "naked" as it were, that is a very bad practice and most fuel injection and turbo shops frown on it and are obsessively cautious about keeping the pintle from being beaten up and dirt from getting in the inlet. If the reman wor was a) actually done and b) damage did not occur during shipping, brands, appearance, and other things are irrelevant IMO. Also know that Lucas/CAV and Delphi are all owned by United Technologies these days as far as I know, so it might be splitting hair to say they were different brands. Basically before I put any injectors in my truck no matter how much I like or dislike the vendor I will be pop testing and want them to be at 2000 psi +- 200 and for best performance they should all be within 50 psi of each other. 100-200 psi variance is acceptable but will net you a rougher running engine and may have an effect, however slight on injection timing and fuel economy.

This is how I got them - the GP's were wrapped in paper to keep them.. a safe? LOL
You must be registered for see images attach

There is a local diesel service place close to town and they look good - I'm going to have them pop tested there and also see if they can take a look at the quality of the IP rebuild.

The stuff I have ordered has come in 4 different boxes from 4 different locations- and I didn't order that massive a quantity of stuff and I haven't even received the IP yet.

So my sense is that they're probably drawing down inventory from all over the place, and probably leaving it to individual locations to independently choose which parts to send and how to pack them.

I've been lucky in that all the things I have received so far have been well packed and arrived in pristine condition.

For those who are getting beat up stuff, whether it's because it was in that condition to start or because of shoddy packaging- you should complain and demand replacement or refund.

agree. My stuff has come well packaged in the new delphi boxes except the controller but that was in a box wrapped in a bubble wrapped bag. My controller looks new, just dusty.

I ordered and received 5 of the 7 IP's, they all came in a very well packed boxes, foamed in so they couldn't moved or be damaged, and sealed in plastic bag. I would assume they were returned to U-Haul like that from DieseLogic after being rebuilt.

Well it looks like all my parts have finally been shipped.

I received the GP controller Friday. According to the tracking info I'll get the GP's on Tuesday even though they arrived at the local fed ex facility yesterday. I guess the delivery driver must be walking here. Or they are just taking Monday off.LOL

The GP controller cover is coming from California and should be delivered on the 10th.

I have no clue on the injectors. They have been shipped but they gave me a tracking # that isn't a valid #. I hope I see some nice Delphi boxes when they do show up.:D

Once all the parts show up I'll just need the 5 foot tall snow bank in front of my truck to melt away so I can put the parts in.:rotflmao
