I have plenty of turbo whistle with the muffler in place. Without the muffler it was just louder overall.

finally got enough clearance for the dp. i had to dent the dp some more. just need to get the tail pipe to clear the rear fuel tank strap and then test drive again. kinda worried as to how loud the turbo screeching is going to be.

Without actually looking at how your downpipe sits in there coulndt you have cut and rewelded the downpipe to sit at a different angle? Because I know plenty of people have 3in downpipes and had no reason to bend the pipe.

are you referring to the end of the dp by the trans cross member?

i probly could have but it would have required more calculations to get the angles right.

was a lot easier to heat it with a torch and use a ballpene hammer to dent it.

I clamped the V-band flange to the turbo and then fit the downpipe to it so that I didn't have to dent or bend the pipe at all. Took a little tinkering and cutting to get the right angle at the flange but it worked out good.

As for intake right now I'm running the factory ATS box with a K&N type filter in it. Slowly piecing together the necessary parts for a water to air intercooler setup.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i no longer have any drone/vibration. tomorrow i will tack weld the tip on the exhaust so it doesn't fall off and so it is harder for somebody to steel. that scary screeching noise is gone as well. must have been related to the dp hitting the firewall.


still don't have ANY whistle though. kinda mystified by that one. there aren't two different directions that the muffler could go in is there? i didn't see any arrows or anything.

i wanna get in on some of this $3.65/gal diesel around here. diesel is less than regular gas.

I need to fix my leaks only getting 6psi too.

On a side note how dose the diamond eye exhaust sound? I've been thinking of doing there dual exit kit.

they sound good at idle. VERY quite while cruising, normal accel, HARD accel. i do have the muffler still though. i will get around to loosing that though.

i obviously know there is an exhaust on the truck but somebody that did not know about the exhaust would not even think twice about the sound.

even at 3K+ rpm i could still talk to my dad with out yelling.

i had to do some more trimming on my extension piece between the muffler and the over the axle piece to get it to clear the tank strap.
