So my buddy has a Garrett turbo with 2 compressor housings, but isn't sure of anything about it. I have an old Suzuki GS450L that he wants to trade the turbo for (I still haven't even gotten my learner's permit). So what do you guys make of it? What model is it? Would it be even half decent for an IDI? Thumbnail pictures below.

He's going to look at and text me the blurred numbers for correct ID. Hot side is .80 A/R and at least the spare cold side is .60 A/R. He hasn't opened it up to measure the wheel. I figure if the center section won't work for the 7.3 I can use it for my furore turbo 300 gasser build. I'd prefer to hold onto it and build a 7.3 IDI with it if possible. Just trying to get as much info on it as possible.

What are the acceptable A/R numbers for a 7.3 (both sides)? If it's too small for the 7.3, then it'll eventually go on a carb 300.

Yup. Got the turbo today. Definitely too small for the IDI, but looks like it would do well if it had a twin for dual turbos.

It'll end up on a 300. Still has paint marker on the hot side wheel and has never been installed.

Go figure

Turbo if for 300 zx is for about 180 cubes or 3 litres

300 six is 4.9 litre or 120 cubes more....its a bizzare idea...

And a 7.3 is 7.3 litres or 444 cubes....

Dunno...maybe it will work...turbo guru not I am!

I wouldn't doubt that. Looks to be about the right size. My buddy originally got it to turbo his '70 BMW 2.0L 4 banger.
