Hi, I was wondering if anyone know the correct size bolts for the exhaust manifold where the turbo up pipe bolts on on the passenger side. The truck is a 1993 F350 Turbo Diesel and the bolts are missing from this. It seems to me that the 3/8" course thread bolt seems loose but a 7/16" course thread seems too big, is there something in between or is this metric or fine thread maybe? Any help would be appriciated
Thanks
Ralph

My 1992 F-350 was a combination of metric and SAE bolt sizes. The engine and running gear was metric and the frame and body were SAE.

Man, your out in the Boonies, but if you have an ACE hardware some of them carry Metric and SAE bolts.

None in Basin, Cody is closest.

Am pretty sure 7/16 -14 as well. Remember when I installed my turbo kit had a fun time getting the studs out so I could thread the right bolts in

The manifold studs that have the "nut" with the 9/16 head on them never gave me any problems. I just used a deep 9/16 impact socket and my impact wrench and spun them right out. Now the earlier ones without that "nut"? They're another story. DaveBen, it sounds to me like you remember your truck backwards to me, On these trucks, I've always seen SAE on the engine and metric on the frame. Some of the gas engines may have been different.

Yeah, I was thinking did I say it correctly or backwards. I got it backwards. Says a lot about getting old. :)

I did new manifolds on my 94 earlier this year, they were 3/8 coarse thread, defintely not 7/16, maybe the threads in your head are worn out? The engine should be all american thread but who knows what a previous owner did to it.

He's not talking about the manifold-to-head bolts(which are indeed 3/8 coarse), but the manifold-to-exhaust/up-pipe bolts, which I believe are 7/16.
