Hello, I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 8.0 V10. Lately in Illinois, it has been pretty cold. My heater has been able to keep the windows defrosted but that is about it. The engine has been running at normal temperature. In the winter, it runs about 180 degrees and 190 degrees in the summer. I am thinking that my heater core may be clogged up. The coolant appears to be good. I am all for hearing other people's opinions. Thank you and have nice day

And also you may want to check the baffles too... If the airflow isn't good.

Replacing the heater core is a PITA, and flushing may or may not work, but it is easier to try flushing the cooling system than to replace the heater core IMO.
