So I think its time or me to get a running progress thread of my truck. Doing some bodywork, and I am going to be fixing all of the good ole high school, throw it together fixes. Once bodywork is done, its on to wiring!

Almost there! Obviously I need to finish the lower portion, but ran out of time.

Did I take the hard route? More than likely yes. I still look at the original damage and cant figure out how the hell I would have actually gotten it back into place though. Lots of experiences learned, I suppose in the end thats all that really matters.

I'm really looking forward to being able to start the truck with a key in the coming months as well, with functioning AC, a cooling fan...etc. That'll be great LOL

Most impressive! What's with all the little sticks jutting out, and what looks like an old fashioned soildering iron?

Sticks are welded to the body to be tugged on. Welding warps metal plus it can be hard to line it up perfect anywho

Exactly, I have a spot welder that welds them to sheet metal, and then you take that slide hammer and give it some tugs. When it was welded both sides bowed inwards. Its not 100% perfect right now and will need fine tuning, but for the time being its going to stay like that. I have to work on the drip rails over the doors next.

Is it going to be difficult to get it color matched? Or do you still have leftover paint from when you had your truck painted originally?

I do, but I will have to get it shipped from Oregon. Although I think it should be fairly easy to match the paint if I take it to a nicer paint shop.

Got rained out yesterday, and it started raining again today (plus I had some things to take care of anyways). Here are the couple other things I need to work on in the coming months.

Got patches from the other beds to finish these up, hacked them up when I removed the bed originally.

Have you checked out Ecology or any of the other junk yards in the San Diego are on their half off days? Those days are usually on holliday weekends. Also if you are ever in the area sometime hit me up and we can go have a beer or somethin. I always like checking out fellow IDIers trucks.

Also Justin, what all are you doing to your engine? Just getting it running or anything else like a rebuild planned?
