Ok so I get a little white smoke... I did a compression test and that came back great! I cracked each injector line one by one and everyone made the truck stutter. I’m getting high egts on hills and low power so I believe the timing is retarded . I’m told I need specialized tools to Time it like a ferrot meter. My friend told me I don’t need a tool just line up the marks and I’m done, not quite shore what he’s talking about?? Thanks again

You need an adapter and a timing light to time it properly, you can experiment with different timing positions to see if you can get it running any better, you can rotate the pump towards the passenger side to advance it

Sorry your getting bad advice bout lining up marks for best timing. Those marks are only accurate on the factory pump that came on the engine. any pump after that will be many degrees of timing wrong. Your bet bet is to get a meter and time it yourself. Its not hard to do. many on this forum use the kent moore j33300 meters.
