so my pump is on it’s way out. For now I’ve noticed my truck will run almost great until the timing advance arm starts to push on the servo pin or piston. I’ve adjusted it all the way I can so it engages as little as possible but it still pushes it enough to drastically change the motor at WOT. LOTS AND LOTS OF BLACK SMOKE. Could I just remove the arm entirely until I get a new pump?

So... Advance the base timing by rotating the pump towards the passenger's side? You'll have to go quite a ways to correct that sort of issue. Get it adjusted right with the timing advance cam such that it's at max retard at full throttle. Then, adjust the timing advance cam to taste for light-throttle response.
