I wouldn't buy anything but the motorcraft / Beru GP's. I believe in saving money where you can but not on the GP's in these motors.

I tired saving money by buying the borg warner plugs. Worked great till they started burning out one by one. 2 went, so i bought 4 so i could have a few spares. Then 6 out of 8 went. Now i'm going to have a friend buy me motorcrafts because i can't afford it, and it will come off the tab i'm running on him. If those fail...starting fluid forever, and I wont look back.

Not trying to Hi-jack the thread or anything.. But as far as the swelling goes, is that after they have been used? When I first got my diesel I noticed the plugs were OLD so I replaced them with Autolites, not knowing about the swelling issue at the time. It has been sitting ever since, never had any power to them... But now I am about ready to fire the truck and hopefully start driving it. Would they have swelled from just sitting, or does that happen from use?

Thanks.

The swelling comes from electricity being put to them. They very quickly overheat and moisture inside from poor manufacturing expands( in one scenario, in some cases, the darn things just pop or do other wierd things , with bum plugs, it's hard to say what will happen) But just sitting not being used, or even being in a running engine if they have not had electricity put to them, they should not have done anything.

I dont know if you Ebay or not, but I bought 2 sets of these plugs and I am happy with them and the service that came along with it. I thought it was too good to be true, but I only paid a little over $60 Canadian delivered for 2 sets.

Were these Bosch plugs marked Duraterm?
Previously the only Bosch plugs available for our trucks were not the new style Duraterm extended burn plugs and the ones for our trucks came from Packistan and they were only good for about a week, but I did some digging on the Parts Bin.com and noticed that there is a Duraterm plug aparantly available now for our engines. If that's what you got, there may now be a quality rival for the Beru plugs ;Sweet THe Bosch Duraterms are designed for extreme extended burn times required by the emissions systems on modern European diesel engines to eliminate smoke during cold start periods, the things stay burning for quite a while after the engine fires to assist in the burn to clean it up

Well, I just got off the phone with the tech guy at Bosch and those Bosch glow plugs are definitely not the Duraterms plugs. Unfortunately, they still do not make those things for our trucks, even though there are some online sellers selling Duraterm plugs for our trucks, it's just because they are misinformed. They don't understand that the things are not available for this application. That ebay seller is trying to sell an upgrade plug that doesn't exist.
I would be VERY cautious about using those things, they are knows for a very short life span in these engines. As much as I love Bosch plugs in European diesels, the things will go 10 years and still be working, but I put a set in my IDI and they didn't last a week before I bowed to the collective wisdom and bought and installed the Beru plugs that were like new a year later when I pulled them out .
