I've only ran Motorcraft plugs before, but I'm in a huge bind right now financially, and the truck needs 7 of them. I have family that have run Delco's without problems, so I'm thinking of trying them. They are the cheapest available in town by over $3 each. It's a last resort at this point, it's either the Delco's or I start the thing on ether, so I guess I'm taking the lesser of two evils at this point. If I had a job and things were going better, I'd pay the extra $7 each for the Motorcrafts, but I simply can't do it right now. Anyways, let me know what you think of the Delco's, or if you have another suggestion.

The AC-Delco #60G glow plugs are self regulating and won't burn out or swell. But they don't have enough threads and wont bottom out and seal. You might able to grind a bit of the hex head just above the threads so they will bottom out. I know of a few guys running them in there 6.2s/6.5 and non have burnt out yet, or given any problems plus they have the spade connectors like the 6.9 uses. Having worked on both GM and fords i have found the GMs runs a better glow plug system. There controller is a better design and easer to diagnose and wont change running duration if a GP fails

I dont know if you Ebay or not, but I bought 2 sets of these plugs and I am happy with them and the service that came along with it. I thought it was too good to be true, but I only paid a little over $60 Canadian delivered for 2 sets.

Seems like the set for $24.00 works well.... How bad could they be.... I personally wouldn't install Champion or Autolites... I have first hand experiance removing them after they burned off the tips. This was many years ago. I had paid some dumpy little dirt floor shop to do my oil cooler along with my plugs and injectors and pump... That guy didn't replace the back plugs... Guess they were too hard to reach... Found this out way too late to do anything about it but tell others not to do business with them.....

It's always been my experience that as soon as you try and do somethign cheap, it only ends up costing you more. This 8 lug conversion project I'm working on is a good case in point. What I thought was going to be a $200 project has now reached $800. Mostly because I bought used parts that ended up being wrong or wore out. It would have been cheaper to just by new stuff from the get go. If your in a financial bind, your far less able to survive the expense of glow plugs gone wrong, verses spending the extra bucks and knowing that's all it is going to cost you. My 2 cents anyway.

I need the spade style connector, not the bullet like those, otherwise I'd have a set ordered up.

FWIW, the Napa in town has Bosch gp's for $1 each more than the AC's, if the Bosch are alot better, I'll go with them. I can't afford a broken off plug by any means, I know that, but with trying to keep a roof over our heads, every last dollar counts. If it comes down to it, I'll borrow some money for the Beru's, but that's my last resort.

BTW Fordman84, setup your PM's.

I changed 2 of my GP's(with MC GP's) a little while ago and found out the ones I removed were autolites. I am getting 6 more MC GP's today. Too many stories of swollen GP's and my aversion to unneccesary work pushed me to do it. I feel your pain with the money situation, I am getting my GP's today instead of new shoes and pants. I can still go to work with holes in my jeans, but I cant do it without a running truck.

Well, I found a site that has Motorcraft ZD-1A glow plugs for $9.99 ea, and it works out to be about the same price as the Bosch plugs, even with the shipping. Ordering a set up this evening, hopefully shipping is quick. The extra $8 will be worth it.

One other thing, with the only dealer in town having to order them anyways, I could almost buy 2 sets from this site for what they wanted for a single set. That's why it was such a hard pill to swallow on getting the Motorcraft's.

Decent! I didn't even notice the fact that it was in a 6.9. What about converting to the newer style harness and connectors? It would be a little bit of work, but cheaper for plugs I would imaging....I could be wrong though. I never priced up the old style spade connector plugs.

Down the road I'd like to convert it over, and ditch the manual switch I have now.

As of right now, getting the Motorcrafts from the dealership meant missing rent, that's how tight money is for me. I'm glad I found the site with the cheap prices.

I completely understand the $$ situation...I got my lay off slip today, so my wallet is folded up so tight you couldn't drag a 20 dollar bill out if it with a bulldozer.
