Just swapped cabin filter on the tdi - not too bad but did lose a single screw when reaffixing the dash panels oh well.
Stopped by harbor freight last night to get trim tools and torx bit 3/8 sockets for the job because wanted to use the battery wrench, saves some headache and risk of breaking glass and stuff.
There was another guy looking for triple square bits and we got to talking and he’s taking the door off on an ‘01 tdi, go figure.
If he were doing cv axle work ida recommended a long shaft triple bit which is not carried at HF - but he knew that already.
Anyway - this cottony stuff must be remnants of mice? Not sure what else it’d be from. Looks like chewed up filter media or something. Didn’t see any tur ds around and haven’t seen other evidence of rodents but still not a nice sight. It might be the sound proofing from between the hood and engine. Only other crud on the filter was dirt and leaves
If the electrical is all good and no chewed wires is there much else to worry about rodent wise?
