I would think somebody who works for Ford would know how much their 10 year old truck is worth...............................
Makes you wonder how arrogant of a person he is in every aspect of life.

On second thought, it might be worth getting in touch with the guy... If he finds a buyer, maybe I could offer him a deal on my dually... $15k sounds nice LOL

Oh yea, he's gonna have em lined up for that deal cookoo

Nice truck, and the"reported" mileage is awesome...I'd offer him $9k.....

I'm constantly amazed at how people justify prices on items they are selling, based on the premise they are "in the business" ;Really

It does have very low miles, 53000 I think it said. A few months back, I saw one go for about 19000 on ebay. If that truck is mint and I mean mint, he'll get it.....if the right guy comes along. There is a huge following for the 97 Crewcabs....last of the good body styles before the spaceship looking SuperDuties came. Not saying I would pay that.....then again.....if I was in the market for another one....maybe.

Maybe he needs that much to get his mortgage caught up, or she found the reciepts for all the stuff he did to it.

Last year one of my buddies bought a '01 crewcab 4X4 dually on Ebay for $21K and it was really, really clean. We did have to fly out to TX to pick it up, but it was a nice ride home.

You might be suprised, He is not THAT high for that truck. I have sold a couple of clean one owner low mile 97's myslef. I asked 25K for them and got $22K, and $23K, out of them. One had 16K miles on it and the other had 45K miles on it. But they were in beautiful condition, garage kept, never driven in winter, and looked like NEW.

This one has a few flaws, and some guys that have the money for a truck like won't like the Modifications. It is easier to sell one that is closer to stock, or Unmolested so to say.

I saw one for sale on CL, It was a 97 F250 Ex Cab, 4x4 XLT PSD, One owner truck with 16K miles. Price was $16,500.00 I went to look at it, it was in the old guys garage with the little tennis ball hanging from the ceiling so he knew where to park it. I wallked around it one time and said "Ill take it". he said "don't you want to drive it?". I said "I don't have to, It is a new truck and I know how it drives".

I came back the next day with a check, and drove it away.

THEN, I advertised it in the Auto-RV for $25K. With this magazine it takes a week or so before the ad comes out. The probem is that the previous owner also had it advertised in the same mag, and I didn't know it, So this truck was in the magazine twice, one for $16,500, His Price, and $25K, My price.

I had a guy call on it and he said, I'm thinking you paid about 16.5K for the truck, Yup I did. He said, "You got a great deal!"

I sold it to him for $23K True Story,....

The second one was a 97 F350 reg cab 4x4 5 speed with 45K miles that I found on TDS, and flew out to New Jersey and drove it back and sold it to the owner of a Ford Dealership in KY for $22K He bought it because he knew that it would appreciate in value.

These trucks will bring some big money but they have to be low mile, clean and the stocker the better.

I think this one is worth around $22K, but well see if he sells it,...

Later,.

 WOWZERS!

Darrin, that simply amazes me....but you did mention the "investment"...similiar to finding that '75 Eldo that granny only drove to church or the Vette parked in a barn when a loved one went to war and forgotton.....

Anyone wanting a truck like that to actually "use" it for it's intended purpose would have a hard time with those #'s.....and that is where I believe myself and those who posted see their value set.

A bud of mine last month picked up a SWEET die straight and clean '97 PSD F350 XLT CC long bed 4X4 with under 100k mi for $4600 :hail

i dont know about todays market but about a year ago around here that truck would be going for 17-18, But i do think 25 is a bit too high with it being modded and the truck market in the crapper
