I have a 2wd 4 popper 5 speed ranger too, 25mpg daily driver, and I hate it too LOL Picked it up for almost nothing and have put about 40k on it with barely any issues though. Its always nice to jump in the diesel or the mud truck and actually have some room.

I dot fit in the TDI but it won't stop me from driving it. Makes little to no sense to take the truck over the TDI. He'll, I dont even fit in the truck!

I'm lucky that I don't have to drive my truck back and forth to work or anything like that. If I had to drive my own vehicle to or for work then I too would have to get something really cheap on fuel.

I tried it with a 4x4 nissan extended cab, not enough room and no power. It had to go.

been driving this ranger i bought for about a month and i can honestly say i hate it!!! gas milage is great but there aint no room or no power at all! the little thing runs great but with ANYTHING behind it, it has NO power at all. had a set of 33x12.50x15s in the bed and you could tell they was back there!! :puke: i cant stand this any longer! found a 96 f350 4x4 psd today that ran rough and now has no fuel to the injectors? hoping its an easy fix! anyways just had to rant!!

I had been driving my dump truck for about a year. 11mpg, couldn't haul my kids, rode like it had no suspension, and did 62mph on the governer. Yeah, I am glad to have my CC IDI back on the road.;Sweet

Had an '88 Ranger, ran it 157k 'till a ring broke and went through cylinder wall. (Which happened about a week after I told a guy I would keep driving it until it fell apart, bad voodoo.) Started out in the low 20's mpg, ended in the upper teens, cramped and totally gut less. Only plus side is you could wiggle in and out of any hole in the woods (while in low range). Do not think I would ever want one again.

I drive a 2006 B2300 daily, I absolutely love the little thing...Cheap as hell on gas (33mpg imperial), ok power (143HP) and comfortable with 5spd/AC...189,000KM and counting....Much cheaper to drive than my 14MPG F350....I wish I had the dough for a brand new 4 banger Ranger, I'd be on it like Charlie Sheen on a **** star.:D:rotflmao....I'm 5'-10" and north of 225lbs so I ain't a little fella either. You gotta save money somehow these day's and a cheap to run DD doesn't hurt.

I worked for an electrical contractor running parts way back in the day. They had about 5 Rangers to choose from.
What has already been said is very true; V6 had enough power and plenty of leg room to be comfortable sitting in the truck for an 8 hour period. In the standard cab truck, it was uncomfortable and underpowered.
Every one of those trucks got beat on every day by guys that didn't care and were still dead ass reliable.

When I worked for Waste Mismanagement we had some rangers with 500,000KM or better...My buddy got a 1994 at his junkyard with 800,000KM last year - one owner truck and the guy drove it to him and threw the keys on the counter...."I'm sick of it, 3rd tranny - original engine"....He bought a brand new 2010 Ranger....LOL

Yep,

The little Rangers are not a bad truck....

Back in the early 90's I worked for a NAPA as a delivery driver/counterman/warehouse run/gofer guy... I drove an 91 Ranger, White, standard cab, No Hat on the roof, but the big NAPA swipe one the door, 4 banger (8 spark plug) 5 speed. Ran that truck all day, every day, 6 days a week. Truck didn't run to bad, not too bad on fuel... only real problem was the junk replacement clutches that were installed.... I blew out two clutches in about a month... on a normal downshift coning off the interstate... not hotrodding, just a normal driving downshift.... that truck had been rear-ended before I started with the store, it was bent in the middle, like into a V at the bed/cab area, it was fixed, and put back on the road.... would not have hesitated to drive that truck anywhere (I did not downshift anymore....)

I would like a truck like Brad's, Ranger Ext Cab with a plow... economical, and I could still haul smaller stuff without having to take the seat out of the Ex, or get the trailer out....
