Hey guys, I'm new on here. However far from new to forums. I have a 1994 7.3 idi turbo that has been a journey to work on so far. We just got the e4od transmission back in that we rebuilt. Then being that the truck wouldn't start we diagnosed it down to being an injection pump. After putting a new one in it fires right up, however the Tach doesn't work. So neither does the tranny. Everywhere I read it says that the Tach sensor is in the injection pump gear housing, next to the oil fill. However, mine is not. Mind you I bought this truck with a bad transmission and have never really dealt with idi's before. Considering that my daily driver is a cummins. I've checks all the fuses and such, but I'm totally confused as to where else that sensor could be located. The oil fill is on the right side valve cover. Am I missing something here? Please help
