I'm planning on installing a dakota digital dash in my truck soon so I can finally have a working speedo/odo and get a tach in there. When I was redoing my wiring, there was a brittle, broken tach sensor connector but my truck being the base model, has no tach. The IP cover does have a very tall sensor sitting in it, but the connectors are wrong.
So I bought on rockauto the correct sensor and connector. The wires are both green, one with yellow dots it looks like. I'm betting the new connector has a red and black or random colors.
This shouldn't matter which is connected where correct?
I followed then in to the dash connector and they both termitate there, but the metal strip is a dead end as there is no location for it. I believe the new dash will plug and play so need to keep these wires correct.
