Yup. I would do both since they are so easy and cheap. Then clean all the goop and recheck after a few miles. This is basic vehicle maintenanceMost likely the rear seal, although some could be coming from the speed-o drive cable.
The rear seal is an easy repair. Start by dropping the drive shaft, pull the yoke off, and pop the old seal out. Drive in a new one, reinstall the yoke and reconnect the drive shaft. 30 mins tops.
The speedo cable is even easier. Remove the retaining bolt, pull the cable out, replace the o-rings and reinstall.
where would be the best place to buy a new rear seal?, also I am not familiar what the yoke is!Most likely the rear seal, although some could be coming from the speed-o drive cable.

Sounds like you’re gonna have to do some research. If your gonna own any truck let alone an old truck yuur gonna have to know some basics or have the money to spend on a mechanic that does.Ill

Also are there specifications on o-ring sizes or just match old with new sizes when replacing them for the Speedo cable?
YouTube for how to. You can get the seal from any parts store - I’ve used Oreilly but prefer Napa. It’s probably not necessary to replace Speedo cable oring - I didn’t. Harbor freight and hardware stores sell oring packs.Ill

Possibly needs more bleeding in clutch hydraulics. Pedal a bit spongy/soft? Or maybe pedal lever connection to master pushrodOk sweet thanks all for the info. I have some basics about the 6.9 but I have little to 0 info about t-19 and normal wear items on this trans. I did replace all the oil in the trans maybe 6 months ago and the old looked really good.
I have really cleaned up the O.D and parts on the trans that were really messy. I’ll be able to see where it’s leaking if I let it sit.
Also I have a new problem, sometimes the clutch works and sometimes it just barely does not work, I don’t know the problem yet. The master and slave and line connecting the two were replaced about 2 months ago.. can’t seem to figure this one out quite yet.
I have the Doug Nash OD on the T-19! I have been driving around and the clutch most likely does have air, the connection to the master push rod is 100% with no play, I’m assuming there’s air I can’t get out, I’m going to check connections to my clutch and see if something is leaking air, reason being when I connect my vacuume pump to the master cylinder to pull air out it is slowly loosing pressure. i think there’s could be a leak somewhere in the connections.I agree, you probably still have air in the system.
What OD do you have with the T-19? A Gear vendor?
The T-19 is a tough transmission, have 363K miles on mine.
It is synchored in all 4 gears.
The T-18 I believe has the granny 1st gear, none synchro.
