That's my hood, my roof is even worse. The paint is clearly done, but I'm just wondering what my options are here. Is there any way I can stop the peeling where it is now and preserve what's left? I'm thinking about just rattlecanning it, but my only workplace is my driveway.

I'm just curious about what options are out there, other than painting the entire truck (someday, when I'm rich). It's just paint, it's no big deal, it ain't a show truck. :D

SPF120! :D
you can 120 the clear off and re-clear with a 3 part set up out of a gun!
DO NOT RATTLE CAN IT.
IT WILL LOOK LIKE DOG FECES.
youre truck dont look that bad,
rattle canning it will make it look bad.
this can be done outside with a decent compressor and paint gun.

can always do a fiberglass scoop on the hood LOL

the only thing you will achieve by recoating clear over exposed pigment is you will now seal in moisture and start to accelerate surface rot on your metal. best long term approach is strip panel down to bare metal and start building with a zinc chromate primer and move up from there. Also, if you move to AZ is soonish, do it after the move. paint materials is cheaper outside of kali.

I don't know man, I think the sunburnt look is cool. :cool
It took 24 years to get it like that. And there's not another paint job out there like it. Personal preference I guess, but I would leave it.

Don't rattle can it. Just say no. If you aren't worried about matching, it's not that hard to shoot a hood. You could even tape it off and just shoot above the two tone to save on paint/cost.
