I figured I would share some of the upgrades or modifications I will be doing to my truck to prep it for use. some things are just typical maintenance and some things I am doing just because.

the most important things to do are,
-front brakes, including pads and calipers
-rear E brake cables
-new P/S gearbox
-reman P/S pump
most of this is already done

this is the interesting stuff. since I have the twin I beam you cant really buy a lift kit for it, not that I have seen. two years ago I bought 1.5'' lift blocks and it put the front end way out of whack and I was wearing out tires really fast. so I decided to make my own lift kit, it is only a 2'' lift but that is really all I need.

there are several ways to lift these front ends and its probably not the way most people would do it but this is what I decided to do.

I am having 2'' spacers made to go in between the factory lower spring mount and the radius arm.

I modified the radius arm brackets to be 2'' lower.

in stead of making brackets to lower the I beams I cut, welded and gusseted them.

all the front end parts have been sand blasted and soon to be painted. I hope all this works and it can now be properly aligned. pictures will be coming soon...

Bronco /f150 lift brackets should drop the tib and lower radius arm brackets FYI...

just looked on rough country they have them for the 4x4 for $360, not too sure if it would fit. not a bad price either.

it looks like the radius arm brackets would work. oh well mine are already made.

Well seeing that converting a 2wd F150 to 4wd is as simple as removing TIB and replacing it with TTB then adding tcase drive shafts done...no reason those lift brackets and parts would not work on a TIB to give you correct steering geometery and lift.

For all the effort to lift a 2wd... Why not swap in a D60?

No, it is an effort to LOWER the 2WD.

Nope...he is LIFTING it...re read it...spring spacer under spring....lifts front...not lowers it....no lift kit for 2wd....

Lowering the TIB and radius arm brackets and adding taller springs and shocks...lifts truck...

You are right, He is lifting it. I looked at the Eyelet he welded on the TTB and mistook it for the other end. My fork-up.

I was thinking the same thing but I don't need a 4x4 truck. this is costing me nothing besides ALOT of labor time and I don't have much parts to do a D60 swap. the twin I beam will ride much better then a solid axel will.

If you decide to go 4x4 I've got a dually D60 I've been tripping over for a while and not sure I'll ever do anything with.
