My brother just bought a new truck, its a 99 F 350 CC Dually, 6spd. Its been running great since he bought it. Tonight he started it to warm it up before leaving the house, and it shut off all of a sudden and now wont start.

no fuses or relays are blown.

Any ideas??

We replaced the CPS from ford with the new one, still no start. The tach doesnt move when cranking. Is there a procedure when replacing the sensor other than disconnecting the negative for a few minutes?

Let's assume it hasn't run out of fuel. Check the UVCH, drivers side 1st, they may have loosened up which can cause a no start. Happened to me like that.

Can you elaborate on that a little? I'm new to the powerstrokes. What does drivers side 1st mean?

BTW its Ladmans truck, my bros ^^^

Well providing it's not a truck from England, the drivers side would be where you sit behind the steering wheel. If your facing the truck from the front it would be on your right side. If you are sitting in the truck it would be on your left side. Drivers side 1st, means to check that side 1st, that is usually the side that causes the trouble 1st, but then again it can be either side.

Read This it may help. Just click on the blue This.

Its just easier to delete the message before anything started that i didnt want. My brain was definitely off when i read the drivers side first thing. With his comma there, I read it as 2 things to look for, not as the location of the harness. I am beside myself when trying to figure out why i read it that way, but i would like to appologise for anyone who read my reply to it.

thanks for the info oldbull

so tonight we swaped out all the relays with the one's in my fathers truck. he has a 2000F350 powerstroke and all of them work no problem. the oil is toped off, put in a new fuel filter, checked all the fuses again and double checked the CKS we replaced the other day, and all is good. we went against our better jugment and shot some eathier into the air intake, and to my suprize, it wanted to run, but did not have the fuel to support it. so from the fuel tank to the fuel filter it is getting fuel no problem. my gues would be the HPOP or injectors are not working. but it is only a guess at this point. my queston is, which one of them would stop working first, if indeed it is one of those two things?

probably neither of those more then likely its a sensor since you have a truck handy to swap stuff with I would try the ICP (injector control preasure) located on the drivers side head towards the front of the engine on top
