That's a good question, I didn't keep track...... I'm sure there's a full roll per door, so there's two. Guessing another 4 rolls, so maybe 6 or seven total??? I also put this same stuff (peel & seal) on the ceiling prior to installing new headliner. The underhood kit from LMC makes a noticeable difference. The factory stuff on both sides of the firewall + the coverings on each of the fender liners is good stuff and I'd never suggest removing it. New weather stripping around door openings is another improvement.

I understand. I have found of late, the quiet interior on the Infiniti and my F-150 is really nice. I was driving my oldest 94 S-10 Blazer 4 door. It had the 4.3 and part of a muffler, and BF Goodrich M/T tires. I was daily driving it for a couple months. After the first couple days I went and bought a muffler. He asked why I fixing the muffler, because it wasn’t that bad.... I said between the open exhaust and tires, it got old quick listening to it. I could do something about the exhaust, so I am.

Smartass said something about being old.........

I used Peel & Seal when we had the engine and tranny out at Wes's shop. I did the engine bay side of the firewall and the tunnel. It's holding up just fine. The sound system stuff arrived from Crutchfield today. When I get caught up with other stuff, I'll lay some down in the interior...

I used 50 mil I got off ebay, 50 sqft was $52, enough for the entire cab - behind seat, floor, doors, tranny cover and overhead. Quieted things down significantly, enough that I can have a normal conversation at 65mph

I know my plan is when i get time to put down 50 mil killmat insulation on the floor, and then noico green 170mil on top. The noico green is supposed to be comparible to the dynamat floor liner or whatever. and then do the back wall and both sides of the extended cab. and the roof as well. I will order two packs of the killmat and doubling it wherever else its needed.

That's why I put mine back up in place last night while I was having a discussion with the pinch weld. I used sheet metal screws and some washers, but that's all I had at the moment. It may be ugly, but you won't see it with the engine back in and the hood closed.:) I'd also bet that it won't fall back down anytime soon. I also left the factory heat shield in place under the cab on the passenger's side right behind the pinch weld. I hope that my down pipe will clear it.

You going to leave those sharp screws exposed out there next to the tire?

Personally now, I would go back through, and replace all of those, one at a time, with a 1/4-20 bolt and nylock, and fender washers on both sides of the sandwich, with each one.

Either find the right size bolt so that the threads show maybe a 32d of an inch past the nylock, or go through and cut them off near the nylock when done.

This is the firewall insulation only. No tire issues.

    Ah. How'd I miss that?
    Rug?

How then, have all the millions of hippy or teen vehicles over the ages, not all burned up, when kids have lined everything with carpet? Worse, shag carpet in the 70's. LOL

I thought you were talking about the engine side like Wes did. You would be fine to put carpet on the inside of the fire wall.

    Ah. Well, that explains it.;)

Yeah, no carpet on the engine side of the firewall. :D

That would definitely be asking for a fire!

Also glad to see that I am not the only one that seems to be missing details all day today! LOL

Anyone know of a good replacement or substitute for the stuff on top of the fender wells?

I had to throw mine out, it was only half there.
