@snicklas

I was getting something similar...getting redirected to some site that apparently parks expired domain registration.

Edit: after seeing clb's reply, looks like we aren't all getting the same redirect page.

I am convinced someone is trying to scam us. Note the fear mongering. I am impressed the sysadmin here already has addressed this. Thank you!

I first noticed this yesterday. I am coming in from Anaheim, California. T-Mobile network. I suspect this was a DNS poisoning that probably messed up a lot of sites to throw sysadmins into a panic , phishing for account credentials as the sysadmins try to get their sites back online.

Whatever it was...it is now working properly.

I did try it without the www, and got the same misdirect I was getting. It may have been a network config error at the ISP. I re-examined my logs.. I was indeed trying to connect to www.oilburners.net

This is my screen: note the www exists.

The link is stored in my browser. It has worked for years. Suddenly stopped. The other links still worked. Then things went back to normal. I did not change anything other than attempt to login with another phone and browser, again experiencing the same misdirection during that time frame.

@Clb... I see you are also coming from California...

Are you using T-Mobile / Verizon ISP?

Being it appears it's just us two noting this, and it's the same site ( which looks flakey to me ), I get the idea we two just got caught up in a network DNS glitch.

IDIoit posted above a missing piece which, for a while, recreated the exact page I was seeing. For some reason I do not yet understand, my system has resumed inserting the www into the URL whether I put it there or not. On both phones. On all three browsers: Brave, Chrome, DuckDuckGo.

I don't seem to have much say in my DNS server... It seems private to my ISP, which is T-Mobile / Verizon.

I may never know what just happened, but I leave my experience here in case others had the same mystery. Sometimes finding someone else's report can sure put ones mind at ease to know if someone else saw it too, as Clb did for me. Otherwise I would still be on high alert that some script is sending me through a proxy server .

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
Well last nite I tried to get on OB using my usual way of getting on from my "Saved" link I have on my puter........ Up jumped that SCARRY BIG RED PAGE that @Clb posted.
I got scared & jumped up & ran!
Then again bout 4 o'clock this morning I tried again & same thing! It was saying all kind of scary things, like maybe something was gonna jump out of the puter screen & grab me!!!
I jumped up & ran outside!!~

& on EDIT....I'm here in Central Oregon.

Are you with T-Mobile / Verizon?

Note the scare page is designed to incite panic, and offers resolution by taking their offer.

i don't have any confirmation of malware on our end yet. It appears to me to be phishing using DNS to send us to their scare site.

I entertain the notion T-Mobile / Verizon hosted a misconfigured update, and they have found and fixed it.

I don't believe its limited to T-Mobile/Verizon. I got the same page yesterday, several times.

My service is Comcast. I'm in sunny California.
