Get it running in his driveway and drive it home. I did that with a 1988 f350 I parted out once. Guys face was priceless. All I managed to do is go look at a '94 F250, ex cab, 4X4, e4OD, Factory Turbo truck that I'm hoping to buy. The body's in good shape and it only has 147,000 miles on it, but there's A LOT of cobbled up stuff under the hood. The guy who has it isn't very bright. He's put quite a bit of time and some money into it and still can't get it started. I know that it has air intrusion issues and probably fuel drain back issues too. If I can get it, I'll uncobble it, fix the air issues, and then turn around and sell it. He's getting frustrated so I feel that my chances are getting better. The last owner died over a year ago, and, if I would have known that the truck was still around, I would have been asking about it months back. I also told this guy that I wasn't going to help him very much if he went to You Tube University. I knew that he'd go right there and I was right so I'm not much help.
I started using a needle scaler on some parts and figured out it is pretty aggressive. It will leave some marks in the metal. I switched to a wire wheel (and drug some parts to work and threw them in the industrial sand blaster)Do you think a needle scaler would’ve worked well here or wire wheel be better?
I went out monday, drove 3.5 hours to get to Erick oklahoma, all day got 4 birds shot 10 times. I wish we had some birds here! this is third year in row that they are hard to find. Everybody keeps saying that cold front will push the Kansas birds down here, I dont think I have ever seen a kansas Dove.Well as crappy as the weekend started with the rain, I did manage to end it with a bang. Ok, many bangs. Another successful dove hunt. I went out with a couple of other guys this morning because one is a truck driver and had to leave this afternoon. It was slow, but still fun. We got 15 if you count the one that I dropped into a brush pile that we couldn't get out. I did that by myself this evening. I felt like I shot too many times, but overall, it wasn't too bad considering my handicaps. My dove gun, a semi auto that had a cut off barrel when I got it 25+ years back, malfunctioned this morning. That action quit moving. It's upsetting, but still, it was made back in the 1940's as far as I can tell. That left me with me full choke single shot and my pump with a turkey choke in it. I have a choke tube that's an improved cylinder, but I moved twice since I last saw it, and I haven't been excited enough to replace it since I don't hunt very often any more. I did order a cylinder choke tube today and paid extra for it so it should be here by this coming weekend when we're going back out again.
No pictures from this morning's hunt, but here's the end result of tonight's hunt.
