A few weeks back I was in Carson City, came up to a red light and the L/R tired skidded to a stop. never done that before. next block down did it again. So knew something was up with the rear Brakes to suddenly do that.
Couple days ago noticed that on the rubber splash shield, the rubber flap under the bed in front of the tire under the bed has a few spots of oil like maybe it was flung off the wheel.
Shined a Flash Light under the Driver side to the back of the Backing Plate on the Pass side. Edge of it was kind of damp looking.

Today I jacked up the rear, pulled the Tire and Brake Drum. I
just knew It would be an oily mess. Nope, just the normal Brake Dust etc... But did notice one side of the Wheel Cylinder was weeping Brake Fluid. Blew it all out with a can of Wally World Brake spray cleaner. ..And did the same to the drum.
Measured the width of the Shoes, and 3" wide.

Buttoned her back up and headed down to O`Really`s for a set of
Shoes, Wheel Cylinders and Hardware Kit. With my War Monger, Baby Killer Discount, (Military) it came to $101.66.
That`s what they called us Viet Nam vets back in the 60`s.

Headed over to HF, last day of Black Friday sale, and picked up another set of 3 ton Jack Stands. $49.99 marked down to $24.99. Also one of those metal box`s that attaches to the HF Roll around tool carts for a box of the Mechanic gloves.
Already had one screwed to the shop wall for the light blue 5 mil
gloves. Needed another one for the heavier 7 mil.
5 mil and good (?) for oil changes but for heavier thing the 7 are better.

Was there Saturday and bought the Merlin Air Hose reel. Marked down to $75. Damn that is a heavy sucker, gotta figure out how to get it up and mounted. Dang, shoulda got a younger Wife.

Then headed over to Wally World for a few more cans of Brake Clean. It`s about 1/2 the price of what O`Really has for theirs.

So this week I`ll be dickin with the Brakes. Suppose to be good this week thru Saturday. It was to be 60, today it shows 55, maybe something is changing. Better weather than back east at least.

Looking at the springs and levers with the Drum off sure is a complicated looking mess compared to others I have done.
Long as I keep one side together for a guide I`ll be good.

You got the brakes but in my experience just don’t forget to set the parking brake end ;)

I just couldn't figure out why the rear tank wouldn't take any fuel. It was completely full but supposed to be empty. I mean, I'd driven almost 200mi on it.. hmm.. but the front tank was nearly empty?

Fuel Selector Valve replacement time... nothing like a cold diesel shower.

I'm trying to commiserate with you over the cold diesel shower, cause that sucks. BUT I'm laughing too hard at the santa mug and the Saftey 1st logo on the cardboard! :rotflmao
Nothing screams safety first like a diesel shower and a cup of joe.

That said, it'll be my turn soon as I need to eliminate the quick-connects between my tanks and the selector valve. They leak air into the supply line, or at least that's my theory.

You have been fully Baptized into Diesel ownership.

Been there, done it. When the next FSV malfunctions
and you get frustrated enough, replace the rear 19 gallon
tank for a 38, new Sending unit. Then plumb it to the
engine and return back to the rear tank.

Turns out that was today! I was so fed up with my rear tank not working right that I put on 3 layers and crawled under the truck in some light rain to do the FSV diesel shower dance. Thankfully it went OK, biggest surprise was that even after replacing the fittings with fuel hose and clamps, I still had pickup issues. Next thought was to blow through the supply line backwards through the FSV. Turns out a *** of crap came out!!!

So now my rear tank(which is diesel and WMO/WATF can be run anytime I like and it's good to go! Next up is to get a real strainer for the rear tank, cause the normal showerhead one has fallen apart even though it's only a few years old.

Thanks to @Jesus Freak for the encouragement!

I wanted to mount this on the drivers side to cut down on my chances of leaving it plugged in and pulling away. I know me best lol

It is Ford's Medium Lapis Blue Metallic. I really like the color. This was my old neighbor's kids truck that he kind of just drove the crap out of and wore out. I bought it for 3k about 10 years ago because I liked the color and I needed a cheap truck. That opened up the whole IDI- wholly crud I spent too much on this ol truck but I like it too much not to- door

Geez it's basically a Tesla now!
That's what I thought.

I actually installed a Tesla charging port for a guy a few months ago, charged him out the ears for doing it too. He explained mathematically how much the little car saved him.........I didn't dare challenge his "new math".

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon

"So what did you do with your truck today?"

Well I went out there, waded round in all that 3-4" of new white stuff that appeared during the nite, fired Bessie up, let her warm up, backed up in a half-moon semi-circle, turned on windshield wipers, then sat there looking at and thinking about yesterday when Kevin and Jason were up there on top my new 40’x64’ shop finishing up putting last of ridge cap and trim on…… sat there thinking and thinking about last 6 yrs trying to get that thing up and built!!!

Finally I stuck Bessie back in gear, let out the clutch, and pulled her back up to my parking, shut her off, got out and went back into house, looked at Carol, just shook my head and sat down on couch and watching Gunsmoke as we speak!!!!
