Yes I think that's correct. I have what I believe to be an aftermarket ATS system (said ATS on the airbox instead of Ford) and the outlet elbow is 3" id. From the pics I've seen of the factory system, it uses a band clamp to attach the downpipe. Mine just slips in and is held by a tab to the crossover pipe bolts.

my DP and turbo had a flanges / lips that a clamp goes around the 2 and as it tightens it compresses the to flanges together..
