Ken,
Do U have any dimensions on the Herc?
I need to look @ that B4 considering a search (rare around here due to age).
I don't believe they came w/turbo but can B set up like any engine.

Kouwell, thought it sounded familiar, I lived in Pheonixville for coupla yrs. used to go up Lansdale area once'n awhile.
So, any ideas on a lght ( 5 -700 lb) 4 cyl diesel of may be 100 - 150tq @ 15000rpm say 2.5 - 3.5L, line pump, non-computer controlled for a 3,300lb work "truck"? (sorta lill brother of ur f250) I'm not ever sure of all the weight, displacement & tq number but am willing to listen and learn...

Perkins is English & no longer made?
Kubota is 2 cyl?
Mitsu...humm?
Any suggestions on models under those names listed? I'll go to the companies' sites...

I own a Jeep Liberty. They did make a Liberty with a diesel in it, though it's rare. I know nothing more than this, so you'd have to research what engine they used.

Dunno about the CJ's, but they had a Perkins diesel available for the early/mid '80's Cherokee that was an absolute MUTT in the power dept..

Dodge used a Perkins diesel in the Power Wagons before the Cummins in 1990(?)

Jeep used a Renault 2.1td in 85 and 86(I have one) not a Perkins.
Also, I don't know about perkins in powerwagons. I have seen 3 power wagons that had a Mitsubishi 6 cylinder diesel(I almost bought one). At least in 78 and 79 that's what they did. Non turbo. Similar power to a slant 6.
