Now thats a stand up kind of business guy Mel. Thats what makes you better then the rest. Kenny I was wondering why you didn't contact Mel about this before you went and replaced it. I do understand not feeling it was worthy of mentioning to Mel because of the length you had the pump but he stands behind what he builds no matter what. I'm betting he will be looking at this part on all pumps from now on too. In all honesty I have never read a post nor seen a pump with this issue on any wrecking yard engine. I have seen a few but not as many as Mel or russ have seen.

I googled it and found someone had this problem on another forum, he ended up welding his but I wouldnt attempt to try that without really having some damn good welding experience.

I honestly didnt want to bother Mel with this issue, this pump is over 4 years old, run daily and has a ton of hours on it. I have moved and re mounted this pump numerous times between several vehicles and the broken arm issue is probably my fault for all the times its been messed with.

I have no problem eventually sending this pump to Mel for repair but at the moment, I feel I took the appropriate steps to get this truck moving again as quick as possible.

then rather than posting a tile called "sick baby moose" perhaps it would have been best to not even post the builder and simply called this thread "sick injector pump" instead.after all, before you just posted this info iv quoted above,it alludes/implies to the unsuspected person that the issue was with the builder since the titles name is the focal point.
im not giving ya a hard time. just food for thought.

I understand. Never thought twice about pinpointing the builder when I titled the thread. I've bragged about this baby moose for so many years to so many people, that its just a common name to say when talking injection pumps with someone. I was looking for some quick help when I started the thread and it wasnt until Gary said something about the linkage, that I went back out and looked at it and realized it was broke.

I do however feel belittled by a couple posts in this thread, enough that I've decided to just sever ties with this site for a while. I'll admit, I get hurt easily and this one bit me on the ass good.

By the way, I was looking at all the turbo install and intercooler pics that you posted, very nice truck. With all the long distance driving I've been doing lately, an intercooler would be a helpful addition to keeping my pyro to a normal level.

Well after reading this thread twice I thought everyone thought and acted pretty well. I try to read the whole thread and
see where it ends up. I wouldn't second guess cause 20/20 hindsight is an advantage. Well done all.

I see no reason why he shouldn't have pointed out exactly what pump it was. Because you know, and I know, and everyone else on this site knows that the FIRST thing out of someone's mouth was going to be "how old is that pump and who did you buy it from? You should go to Mel @ Conestoga for a replacement". In my opinion, he was skipping that crap all together by saying what the pump was.

Let me make sure I understand this.
You didn't.
But then you say you already got a pump and turned that one in as a core? Why didn't you call me about this? I'm a little disappointed that you didn't come to me first. That doesn't make a lot of sense. Everybody knows I stand behind my products.

First off, you ASSUMED he turned in your pump as a core. Second, hardly ANY companies give a rat's ass about their products after 4 YEARS. Third, if a guy doesn't have TIME to ship a pump across the country and back(Which we all know would take at least a week plus how long it takes to fix) his decision makes perfect sense.

I guess it's a good thing he didn't misdiagnose the pump being the issue. No one could have called broken pump shaft though, so no one is at fault for anything here.
