I figured that i see power steering pumps wearing out all the time, how often do you have to replace an oil pump? Also I think the power steering pumps put out higher pressures. I have no doubt it will work, theres hundreds of ways to accomplish the same thing. Its all a matter of preference.

Heres a link to the site with the centrifuges.

Ohhhhh! Billy FAILED! I've seen a few setups where the guys are using Harbor Freight clear water pumps...for 40 bucks it'd be worth a shot...

This last summer I was dumping my oil through a cone filter, not sure of the micron size but it caught all the really nasty stuff and it went into a 50 gallon rain barrel. I didn't have a lot of money but I had a brand new sump pump that I wasn't using. I was just putting it in the bottom and pumping it through a whole house filter and a goldenrod water blocking filter. Before that I was putting it into a tank with the filter hooked up to it and pressurizing it but it was getting to be a pain doing a few gallons at a time. I might be buying close to 1000 gallons of oil pretty soon. I was getting some for free but not really enough and then that dried up. I have over 200 gallons right now but I am thinking with fuel climbing I should buy this while I have a chance. I can get it for .75 cents per gallon. I would rather get it for free but it seems to be competitive around here for oil. This is vegetable oil not motor.

Can anyone post a pic of their gravity feed setup where one bag drips into another please?

I would suggest using an actual automotive/truck fuel filter for your final filter. There is a big difference in the filtering quality between that and other types of filters. One that is recommended is a Baldwin BF7587. It fits on a 1"-14 thread filter head.

i would use a gear pump but they can be hard to seal up since they are used in an environment where if they leak some past the shaft it just goes into the pool of oil. i bought a newer camero pump that is sealed to not leak and does not have a reservoir to mess with. just a in and out connection and add a belt.

I used the harbo freight pumps for a bit but the supply and pressures werbt constant enough. I ended. Up with lots of air pockets.

Im refering to the iron barral pumps. I figured that I wasn't able to spin it fast enough to keep a steady flow.

This project fell by the wayside for me, I've been pretty busy with work since I originally posted this. However, with diesel approaching $4/gallon I'll be looking back into this soon.

I just have to wait for the one year warranty to expire on the Moose pump. ;Sweet
