Seat Covers

Picked up a set of bucket seats to swap into my truck in place of the bench, I’d like to keep them nice so curious what y’all are using for seat covers. Most sets I have bought fit terribly and lasted a month or two.

I'm going to follow this too. I've been considering replacing mine but seat covers aren't exactly cheap (cheapies being $50-60/pr) and if I dish out the money I'd like decent ones.

Curious if anyone has tried the carhartt ones?

hate to say it but i don't think you will have much luck. maybe you can find a nice cover for a little newer truck that will fit.

all i ever see is people buying those cheap **** covers from the parts store.

But I cannot attest to fitment in your truck. I have seats out of an excursion in my truck and overall the fitment is pretty good. I would say the fitment is great except I have power seats and the seat covers have a slight problem fittin snug around the seat control panel. I have a plan to fix it up, paracord tie to beneath the seat, but you know how much other **** my truck needs first!

As far as durability though - I mean you have seen em and you know I dont exactly baby my truck, and I havent seen evidence of lowly parts store quality yet. The passenger seat regularly holds tool bags, dogs, materials for jobs, coolers and dirty helpers... well that goes for both seats now that I think about it. So far so good

In that instance you would be better off having someone reupholster seats with new foam.

Same boat parts store covers make it only 6 months before being totaled, I usually just buy the cheapest black and camo one but currently have no cover in and I got a new seat recently and it's that plasticy stuff and idk how any seat cover will ever stay put again now, can't stand non fitting sliding covers lol

For what it's worth, I got a "guesstimate" of $200 for my drivers seat. Without him seeing it but I described it good.

Gives you a clue anyway. I'm sure the prices vary though.

I haven't tried them but they look pretty stout.

Problem with these old trucks is no one makes off the shelf stuff that fits worth a crap and lasts. If your looking for a good fit and durability you're better off going to an upholstery shop and having custom ones made up. I just threw on a pair I had laying around and made them fit. When they wear out I'll just get another set of cheapies and do it again.

Look up Marathon Seat Covers. Expensive, but they seem well made.

Supposedly Headwaters seat covers are well made and the company was started by a guy who had worked for Marathon. Only camo patterns to choose from, but quite a few add-ons you can order such as bow and gun scabbards. When I buy some I will most likely be buying from Headwaters as they seem legit and a tad more personal--but it could be fake news!
