I've been running 315/75R16 Safari TSRs for several years. For load range E tires, they ride great. Sadly, they are discontinued. The 255/85R16 Discoverer ST Maxxs I have on now ride extremely rough. I'm searching for suggestions on 35" tires that are a little more forgiving than the Coopers. Thanks in advance.

I'm running Goodyear Wranglers 315s.
I ran Safari before ... GYs are nice and (relatively) quite, ride is good and traction is great.

I'm guessing maybe the Wranglers and TSRs are very similar except tread pattern, since both are technically made by Goodyear?? Hadn't really considered that. Thanks!!

Yes sir ... both Kelly Springfield tires.
The GYs seem more stable and, as you pointed out, the tread pattern is different / less noisy that the Safari.

I have a pair of Kelly ATRs still. They are/were a Goodyear brand. They're the 285/75R16E and I'm down the last 30% or so... finishing them off on my D250.

When I finally went shopping a few years ago for the 35" TSR, they were gone. I got the Duratracs instead. Better tread pattern IMHO, and go on sale for similar pricing to the Kelly's.

The TSRs have been on my Alcoas for 7 years. For 2 winters I have alternated them out for the ST Maxxs(on steel wheels) for better winter weather traction tread pattern. I'll check out the Duratracs.

After consulting with my local Goodyear tire guy, formerly Goodyear distributor for 150 shops, I cannot get Duratracs in 315 or 295 widths, regardless of aspect ratio. After further research I'm down to Cooper AT3 315/75R16, Nitto Ridge Grappler 315/75R16 or Ridge Grappler 295/75R16. My concern is that the 295/75R16 Ridge Grapplers will ride as rough as the Cooper 255/85R16s. Opinions or first hand experiences??

I almost bought Pro Comps at one point. A couple of friends ran them. No bad reports. I've had Toyo MTs also - solid tire.

Ride rough on such a thick and tall tire? What PSI are you running? I went from stock ATs for over 13 years to 285/75-16 MT's for the last year or two and I can't believe how soft they ride. It's mostly nice. But I have them aired down to where they wear evenly, which is pretty low-- like 35-40 psi front and 25 psi rear when empty.
Each brand will have a sweet spot for PSI and ride comfort. I can't help on 35's, that's out of my league.

I do not understand what BS is going on with 315 ATs, but the Pro Comp AT 315/75R16 are discontinued.

The Safari TSR 315/75R16s ride great. Discontinued. The Cooper ST Maxx 255/85R16s suck. I'm trying to move to an AT in a 34-35" diameter, load range D or E. I'm typically at 50-60psi, except when towing.

I also have these 16.5s, but don't care for the offset or the challenge of finding similar tires in 16.5.

I run the copper AT3’s on several trucks. I love them. I would have chimed in earlier but I thought you were looking for a more aggressive mud tire. The AT3’s are smooth and quiet but provide pretty good traction for an all terrain. I run a 285/75r18 on my GMC it’s right about 35” tall. I know a guy who has a set of the Nitto Ridge Grapplers and he complains about the noise and rough ride. On the other hand, he really likes the way they look.
