Starting a new thread because this isn't just about my problem...

Question: after watching DieseltechRon's video, I want to do a running compression test, I just want to confirm the process before I blow something up.

So I'd pull just the glowplug on the cylinder I'm testing and unplug the injector so it doesn't fire?
Or do I let that cylinder fire?
It seems like firing would generate way more pressure and blow up my gauge.?.?

Pull all the glow plugs.

You’ll be testing every cylinder at some point. So you might as well pull them all. Plus this would allow the engine to spin over easier. Easier on the starter and the batteries.

Next don’t turn it over with the key. Turn it over by using the starter wire disconnect on the passenger fender.

He's talking about testing one cylinder at a time with the engine running... lol
