Found a source for some rug but has trash and water in it.
Should I just settle it out? Or mix with oil before I run it through the centrifuge? Or both?

Water doesn't resolve into gas as bad as jet a or diesel. Drain as much water off after settling and then blend with oil and then fuge. That would pull any other water out I would think. Is it pretty clear?
I blend them fuge just to be sure everything is clean.
Nice score!

I haven't gotten any yet so not real sure. He told me it would definitely have water and trash mixed in it.
I have an old oil 350 gallon oil drum that I welded some legs on. got the fittings ordered for it. Gonna use it to settle it out. shouldn't take long for it to separate I wouldn't think.

Are you pumping out of his container? Can you tell when your pump start to pump water? Mine changed sound so it's obvious when I am into water or coolant.

not sure yet. I'm hoping we can just swap totes.
I've only pumped oil so I'm not sure if I could tell the difference between gas and water

Talked to him today. I can come any morning. He said he’d be happy to swap totes.
Shouldn’t take long for the water to separate should it?

Perfect. I have a source off red diesel. It is wet and has some dirt and rust on it from tanks. Watery sludge. I let it settle for a week before I fuge it. But that is great if he just swaps totes. In that case it's probably settled more than a week in his tote. But a couple days if you pump it would probably work too. Nice

Could put some biobor jf in it that helps drop water out by killing the microbial growth. It will make cloudy jet fuel crystal clear again. Haven't seen it do it with diesel yet, haven't tried gas.

I know it's kinda funny sounding but
biobor jf is a fuel additive. It kills fungi and bacterial growth. Cool stuff but toxic.

What happened to the electric motor? I put new bearings in one of mine last year and cleaned it up. Where about are you? I am here in Oregon and have a bunch of processed stuff ready to go. Looks like you are not to far away from me. Ha

Oh OK @Mt_Man ..... biobar is a new one to me. (Dumb as I am I'd probably get a fly-swatter a swat the algae & fungi) LOL

Yeah my motor got to finished putting back together etc. Got new parts, just been swamped & too busy lately.

I'm over here in, out west of Redmond in the country..... about 150 mi from you. You My neighbor.
