kinda steep for just a holder.
if it had a screw jack or something to raise it into place, we'd be talkin!
I can make that tho, with less "clutter"
thanks for sharing!

I want to do this myself.
Some trucks actually come that way. Currently couldn't tell you what they are.

The later model Ford E-Series Cutaway Van C & C is this way......

You must be registered for see images attach

The two bumpouts on the passenger frame rail, behind the cab, before the rear duals, is the factory mounting location of the batteries.....

Thank you Scott, that's what I was going to day. The van boxes are nice. Have cables to hold them up to put battery in, then you buck the box up and it slides into slots cut in the frame. Them bolts hold it in. I am trying to decide if I want to graft them on to my truck or build a box for g31 batt. Or maybe say screw it and install one 4d battery

Nice battery box. I've seen one guy here post that made a similar box, though it swing out or down to install/service and locked into up position somehow. I think his may have been a van with a tight engine compartment though. What is wrong with mounting in factory location at rad support/fender corners? Keeps batteries high out of water, away from terrain. In a truck I don't see a need for relocating batteries to frame unless you need the room for something else fairly large under the hood?

I agree. But I think he wants the engine bay to be "Clean" no clutter.

Look at mdt( med buty trucks) most have monster heavy batt's 'thus the box is designed to slide or lift.
Hope it gets ya going.

I do it routinely. I have an 8D in the toolbox on my Ford.
The dodge is wired for it also, but I have no battery in the box right now.
Four group 31's in the winch truck. Under the bed. I would have put them
in a frame-mounted box like the real trucks, but the room is being used by
a toolbox. And a group 24 up front.

Just remember to use large cable (4/0 or better).
I use 250 MCM DLO cable.

I don't currently have a picture but I have three factory style batteries in the lower right side of my box or cab extension. since you don't have one of those boxes on your truck you couldn't do the same thing but its what I did.
